Its easy to recommend these Meross smart plugs, especially for HomeKit users. Ive been using them for years and they have been one of the most, if not thee most reliable HomeKit product I own. Aside from the occasional firmware update, theyre always on and available. Simple as that!

Constantly disconnecting. At least twice a week I have to unplug them and plug back in to reset.

I am waiting for support to get back with something so that I can get this hooked up to HomeKit. So far no luck. I will update this if that changes before I get over the wait and return them for something I know works. Support replied to me and has been very very helpful. They have identified a problem impacting a small number of users, of course I always seem to be this user for everyone LOL Anyway after several emails, and videos they were able to do something and advised that these plugs NEED to be connected to HomeKit First, then add them to their App after they are in HomeKit. I am assuming either they or Apple who they told me they were in contact with cleared something so they could be added, but it might have been just time and they rolled out of the system since they had not connected. Either way, I had them sitting aside while support and I discussed the issue and when I went to try it again, I was able to add them to HomeKit then add them to their Meross App. Very happy to have this resolved and with the great support I received. I am giving this 4 stars because it should not have taken all of this to get them to work, but I there should be another rating for support and I give them 5 Stars for all the help.

These were great had an easy install and set up using the QR code in the apple home app. You will need a homepod or apple tv or ipad to act as a hub for them to work properly. Have had no issues with use, functionality or connection, and it has worked great with homepod. Have not tried with alexa, but works great with apple ecosystem and Siri.

I cannot for the life of me get these to join my Home app (iOS). I have an eero mesh network and Ive followed every walkthrough I can find (mostly around disabling 5G temporarily) to no avail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They came highly rated and maybe its just me.

When I attempted to install the device, SmartThings needed my login to the app. I stopped at this point because I dont want to install an app to get thus connected to SmartThings

I was looking for a compatible Apple HomeKit plug that I could use for my home office connectivity. I have a Work From Home router that connects back to my corporate network with wireless connectivity. I didnt want the WFH router to be available during non-working hours. I purchased a two pack of the Meross plugs and was surprised with how simple it was. I was able to add the plug through the HomeKit app without a 3rd part app download. I didnt have big challenges with the 2.4/5GHz interoperability you sometimes see with smart plugs. Many times this comes from your device being on the 5GHz and the HomeKit device not honoring because of 2.4GHz use only. Its been connected now for about 4 weeks with no issues. Ive lost power in the house once and the device came back to HomeKit when power was restored. I use automation to turn off and on the connected device during work hours.

Installation/activation is a breeze. And for the week that they worked like they should, these plugs were amazing. I specifically bought them so I could turn in the lights as soon as I hit my wi-fi because my apartment has no ceiling light and the closest switch/outlet is all the way across the living room, which means I would be maneuvering my way around in the dark. Like I said, for the week that they worked it was great to open the door and have light in my apartment. I also used one for the Christmas tree, which is the first one that failed. After a week, it showed “no response”. I reset it and added it once again to the HomeKit app. Worked for 2 days and once I got “no response”. Reset, added it and worked for 1 day. I’ve been unable to reset it and added to the app ever since. It constantly says “unavailable”. Then the other plug stopped working and said “no response”. I reset it and when I tried to added it again it said that device was already added. Took 3 resets for it to take. It has continued to do the same thing and now, a month later, it is also in “unavailable” status and I can’t reset and added it back. I’ve tried all sorts of tricks and tips I’ve found online for these but nothing has worked. Good thing I can still return them.

Added very easy to HomeKit and works just as good as my wemo ones. No need to pay for the name when they do the same thing.
