I have gotten several Mont Marte paints and have been impressed with all of them. These metallics are beautiful. The paint is a nice consistency and just really enjoyable to use.

Love the tube size and the fact that the paint is easy to extract from the tube. Ill keep these tubes in the box since its sturdy and each tube has a spot. The paint spreads easily and there are some really pretty colors. There are so many greens and a lot fewer blues than I would have liked. There is no black. Black gray isnt the same so I had to add a black from another kit. Still I like the effect and the sheen. When my son came over and I showed him my painting, he said oooooo, so thats good.

I have been working with acrylics a lot lately. I have several sets that I have been working with to find my favorites. This metallic set is a fabulous addition to my already expanding collection of regular acrylic paints. WHAT IS THE SET LIKE? This is an excellent assortment of colors that come in this set. Most of the colors have shimmer in them which are the same as the paint itself. A few of them have colors that are slightly different adding to the depth of the color. TUBES You get quite a bit of paint per tube. They are see through plastic so you can accurately see what the paint looks like BEFORE you use it. OPACITY These paints are not super thick. That means that they are easy to apply in thin coats without globs and frustration. You can also mix them in with other paints and get a pretty nice blend. MIXING (SEE MY PHOTO FOR EXPLANATIONS) I mixed the bronze gold with black to create the center of lettering in the welcome sign that I have posted with this review. The roof on both of the houses were accented by metallic paint alongside with regular acrylic colors for contrast and texture. If you look in the windows of the welcome sign, you will see two of the gold and bronze metallic paints to make a glow inside. GLAZING I also used the metallic pink as a glaze on top of the center of the heart and the doors in the welcome sign. I also used the cyan metallic on the one house as a glaze and the aqua metallic paint as a glaze on the greenish blue house. It is hard to see in my photo as the light isnt quite hitting it. DRYING These dont take too long to dry, but you have a little time to work with them as long as you are quick. When used as a wash, they dry pretty quickly. Adding some extender or glaze to them will extend the time a bit, but it will weaken the color. THE BOTTOM LINE This set of paints is gorgeous. It is a great way to add texture and depth to acrylic paintings. I use them a lot and they really bring paintings to life. MY RATING FIVE STARS. I love these colors. They mix so well and glaze beautifully too.
