Ive used several Netgear products, including this 16-port 10/100/1000 switch as well as the Netgear 4-port 10/100/1000 mini-switch, and Ive never experienced any problem. I suspect that some of the failures youre reading about have to do with inadequate ventilation. This is a fanless switch, and if you dont have it located in an area where it can dissipate heat, youll see that it gets very hot. This can also occur when you pile stuff on top of the switch, as might happen if you locate it in a closet, or put another heat producing device on top of it, like a cable or DSL modem. This caveat is also included in the setup instructions, so its ultimate location should be taken into consideration prior to your purchase.

It just works. Connect router to any port and have an additional 7 ports for devices.

This product was easy to install and worked as expected. Nice to have additional ports for home network expansion. Have not had any trouble with the device.

Nice managed switch. Web interface allows management and VLAN config. Can be monitored with Insight app. Quiet and easy to. Set up.

Great switch for the money

8-port unmanaged switch.

Everything was as expected. It was delivered on time and the equipment was new, in the original box and worked perfectly.

Just installed it and yes it works out of the box, i mounted it to my entertainment center cabinet and i like the warranty that comes with it.
