    It took a few tries for my laptop to pick up the media for some reason. I tried both UEFI and BIOS a couple times, and finally on the third BIOS try it picked it up.

    I just got done submitting a review for a windows 8.1 install/repair disk that DOES NOT work as expected, so I suppose I should point out that this one does. You should understand how to set the boot sequence on your computer or how to get it to boot from CD/DVD and know the difference between an OS upgrade and a clean install. This disk will let you do either, or repair an existing installation that no longer boots properly.

    Not needed and absolutely outdated. Recommend using the free install from Microsoft via download to usb.

    I have always repaired my own computers but after my expensive gaming computer crashed nothing I tried would get it back to working again, this was my last hope before buying a new laptop, was super easy to use, within an hour or two my computer was fixed and is now running great, I tried the repair function with no succes so I used the windows 10 reinstall and that did the trick, found all my old files and pictures in a folder on the hard drive c drive marked “windows.old”

    I have a Qosmio computer that i needed to reload windows from scratch into and I put this into the CD drive and it just wouldnt recognize it. But, the same cd drive did recognize other recovery type disks. I sent it back for a refund.

  • I brought this disk to reset my laptop but it would not take because a whole partition was missing from my drive. It asked for a specific file that was not there. I believe in normal circumstances this disk may work.

The bios must be changed so the DVD drive is set to the 1st Boot device and the hard drive set to the 2nd Boot device, save the changes and restart with the disc in.
