After having gone through a few ultra cheap mechanical keyboards I can definitively vouch for this keyboard as very much worth the step up to lower mid-rage. It is thee one to get. It hits everything I want. Obviously price is reasonable for the average person. The look is crisp, clean, and neat. I cannot stand gaudy PC peripherals so it was nice to get something so solid and clean. Even the logo is minimalist and not obnoxious. It has some decent heft to it. The base is heavy and not going to move on you. Easily the heaviest keyboard I have owned. It has backlighting that can be controlled with variety and can even be turned off completely. And it has the choice between brown and red switches. I went with brown as I like the tactile feedback but was going deaf from ultra cheap blue switches I had on previous keyboards. They are lovely. Ive had mine over a year now and it still works. But. I did lose some response accuracy in a couple switches over the year. These are cheaper switches and I guess you do get a little of what you pay for. Left CTRL was the first to go and I chalked that up to the angle of my pinky pressing it. I thought perhaps it was getting too much horizontal lateral pressure being pushed away from the keyboard to the left rather than a precision up and down strike. I replaced the switch with one of the extras. The keyboard comes with a keycap removal tool, a switch extraction tool, as well as a row of sample/extra switches. These include two blue, two brown, two red, and two black. Havent had an issue with the Left CTRL since. Unfortunately my C switch ended up with the same issue months later. Which killed the lateral contact theory. Another quick replacement and Ive been good to go. I am just all but certain another key/switch will peter out eventually. End of the day it has been a wonderful daily driver of a keyboard for over a year now. I type an above average amount daily during the week and game with it on the weekends. Ive put in some good miles on it and having to replace two switches on it doesnt sour my opinion at all. If I had paid hundreds for it, I might be upset. But I paid a reasonable price and got a more than reasonable keyboard. I would happily buy this fella again.

If you want to get into a mechanical on the discount, this could be a good choice. Knock off cherry MX brown hall effect switches. Lots of LED, not full array-full zone, but ok. The unit performs well and is largely quiet except for the over travel by the switches. If you want a mechanical for work or games, you could do far worse

Husband wanted a new gaming keyboard since his was older and not fully working anymore. I found him this one as a gift since he has a Redragon gaming mouse and likes it. After I then used it on my husbands computer one day, I ended up getting one for myself when I saw it come up as a lightening deal for prime day. I couldnt pass it up. Husband keeps joking that Im a copy cat since not only did I steal his keyboard I also set it to the same light feature that he had (I just picked what I liked the best so far, which is that it starts as a light shade of the color you pick and as you type faster/longer the light on the keys turn darker and darker). It has a seemingly endless combination of light feature/colors that Im sure Ill never get close to getting through. This keyboard has the brown switches that give you a tactical feel, are light, but are not super annoyingly loud (like I find the blue switches to be). These are the perfect middle ground for having the tactile clackly feel of a mechanical keyboard but not the super loud typewriter sound that you can hear from across the house. Its still decently loud if you do like the sound, but not so loud that you cant hear yourself think. I had a razer gaming mechanical keyboard myself a few years ago (that eventually broke) and I like this one better than that one even thought the razer was a bit more expensive. For anyone reading this that hasnt used a mechanical keyboard before, it really is much faster and comfortable for typing or gaming. I also personally find the tactile feel and sound satisfying as I type. The quality so far seems great (havent had it long, but my Husband has had it about half a year and no issues at all) and the design is very sleek. This is a slim keyboard and the edges sit very close to the keys so I actually saved some desk space switching to this keyboard since my previous one was very bulky with a large and unnecessarily thick border around the keys. So, all in all, husband and I both love this keyboard and it gives us all the features that we want at a fraction of the price of some of the other gaming keyboard brands.

I purchased this keyboard to replace a very clicky mechanical keyboard that greatly annoyed anyone nearby, or anyone that I was on the phone with, or chatting with while typing. It was loud, and I thought that all mechanical keyboards were the same. This keyboard is far quieter, although it is missing the clicky tactile response that I was accustomed to. Button presses are very smooth, lighting is great, and keys feel very nice. Also, this thing is much heavier than my previous keyboard - so heavy, that you could use it to attack someone that you dont like, and it would probably not break. Great keyboard - you should buy it right now.

I wasnt too sure about this keyboard. I wanted a lit keyboard as I prefer to do my gaming with the lights off. I suppose I delayed for years getting one due to the price. I read all the reviews concerning the Redragon keyboard. Although I was somewhat skeptical, I pushed the key to purchase. The lights (or, why were here): Prior to this keyboard I was using a really nice wireless one from Logitech. It still is nice, but it doesnt lite up the keys. The Redragon does...spectacularly! I dont know that I have a reason to use all the light shows it will perform, however, if you are reading this and you want a keyboard that does...this is the one! Now, when it comes to lighting, I wanted one that I could program the color and intensity of the keys. More importantly I wanted to be able to program each individual key according to the key controls for games. There are many expensive ones that caught my eye but didnt have this capability. This keyboard hits a grand slam when it comes to programming individual keys! Everything I wanted. For me that is enough to validate the five stars I gave it. Tactile feel/feedback from the keys: At first I wasnt sure I liked the feel of the keyboard. I used it in a few games and loved it. But I wasnt sure I was going to enjoy typing on it...until I typed out my first email. My fingers were dancing around on the keys making clickity click sounds like Reindeer on the roof. I was afraid I would end up with a lot of typos on this keyboard and the opposite is true. If you want a keyboard with tactile feel and feedback, then Redragon is your buttercup. In regards to the instructions: They arent that great. The good news is that the operation/programming of the keyboard and downloaded software is very intuitive. Seriously, it aint rocket science. I was up and programming in less than ten minutes. Would have been less except I was enjoying all the light shows. Time to sum it up and move on: Truthfully, $49.89 is outstanding for a keyboard of this caliber. Its a great gamer board and also great for typing (even in the dark). I highly recommended this keyboard! On a side note; this aint no plastic keyboard! Whack somebody with it and youll likely get charged with manslaughter (or womanslaughter, kidslaughter, petslaughter or coleslawder). Nice because it doesnt slide around.

I bought the K556 RGB back in Dec2020. Ive been very happy, and no software was required to use it. Im still using this keyboard today and was thinking of adding another for use with different system I built. I see more models have been added, which have some of my interest, however, they all seem to use software now. I dont want to have to do this in order to control RGB backlight features. Even the K556 now appears to use software now. I hope it’s optional and not required. Nevertheless, Ive been happy with the one I bought.

I have been eyeing this keyboard for a while now. I finally got it while it was around $40 during the Prime sale. I have only been using membrane keyboard and this feels, somewhat underwhelming when I first get it. I was expecting a bit more resistance but this keyboard is made to be very light and very light click. However, after using it for a while I know that I wont be able to go back to using membrane keyboard. The light pattern that came with this keyboard is quite useless. Its pretty. I especially interested in using the ripple effect one. However, when I selected it, every key is dark until I press them. Needless to say I cant use it. I ended up using the default one it came with and be happy with it. I flows RGB slowly and makes the keyboard look pretty. I like the sturdiness and weight. I think the base is made out off metal. Overall, I grew to like it. Lets hope they keys last for a very long time.

Arrived fast-packaged fine. I wanted a back lit keyboard for general typing and computer work. Had old basic keyboard for 12 years and wanted something new. I am a 65 year old female and just needed something that was easy to use and works good. I am not a gamer-So much to choose from-reviews where half good-half bad on all keyboards. Even expensive keyboards had bad reviews. Seems the better keyboards are gaming, mechanical and depend on type of key color so thought I would give this one a try. This is a very small keyboard and my hands feel cramped when typing. Although maybe it is because this is a benefit for gamers. Would have liked larger keys but this is a learning experience about keyboards. Mechanical keyboard with brown keys. Makes clicky sound when typing but this does not bother me. USB which is great-plugged in fine worked perfect. What I do not like is the instruction booklet-is not helpful and sort of confusing for how to set color of back light. I had to go to internet and watch videos on how to change and set color on keyboard. That was more helpful and then was able to understand instruction booklet better. Gave it a 4 Star because of instruction booklet. Does have nice colors and bright. Not sure about the wave of in and out of colors changing-hard on my eyes but maybe a gamer thing. I picked Red backlight and keep it set not to change. Just had to play with settings to understand how they work. Gave 4 star for instructions booklet. Will keep keyboard.
