I was excited to have a portable SSD drive to take with me on to go. Unfortunately, within the past year I’ve had 2 incidents where the drive just randomly decides to stop working. It doesn’t show up when connected to my Mac. All it does it drive up the fans to 100%, and the only way to get it working again is to format it. I’ve lost all my information twice, and this happened AFTER my return and tech support window closed. The drive just stays on my desk most of the time and away from other possible magnetic and static interference. I only needed to travel with it once, and the drive worked fine afterwards so I don’t know how or why this drive is behaving the way it is. All I know is that I’m tired of losing my data and am afraid to reformat it again just so the drive can seize up again in the near future. Pretty disappointed as i purchased this external SSD for its reputation and great reviews.

Leave it to Samsung to get an SSD right!

I didnt use the tech support so I cant speak to that but the device is small, about a stack of credit cards in size. Its fast and its easy to transport in a pocket. Perfect for what I wanted.

I’m a professional photographer and bought three of these to back up photos on. TWO out of the three no longer work! One won’t even turn on and the other one keeps getting error messages over and over. Buy something else!

I use this product to store all my past and current tax returns.

Even though I knew the size and read the comments, its still such a surprise when you see how small this SSD really is. Amazing transfer speeds and it looks great too. The Samsung encryption software was problematic on Mac OS High Sierra (10.13.6) and clunky looking – so shortly installation I formatted the drive and opted not to use it.
