Was using this as a Time Machine Backup for my MacBook Pro. It worked fine for five months then simply stopped working. Couldnt read or write to it. Showed as an uninitialized disk. I could not format or access it from other machines either. $170 brick.... No apparent way to get refund or replacement form Samsung but Amazon did refund my money.... Product is a 2 star Amazon serve was a 5 star

Nice product, faster and easily portable

Very fast. If you are using Windows 10 only, reformat this drive to NTFS, especially if you have 1000s of small files. eXfat chokes, making the drive ridiculously slow even to open. I used allocation unit 4096 bytes, but if your files are smaller that 4MB, use a smaller allocation unit to avoid wasting capacity.
