> 3 dayUsed this to remover a pretty decent amount or surface rust from my hotrods cowl hood. Took about 30 min and I had removed all the rust from my hood straight down to bare metal without a single small spark flying. Great product and would highly recommend to anyone who is working with minor to mild rust.

> 3 dayI used this to remove *heavy* mill scale from all the surfaces of a 10” piece of W8x40 I-beam. It took probably 65% of the disc to do it but it did an outstanding job. 3M states it’s only for light mill scale; mill scale doesn’t come much heavier than what I used it on. And no danger of cutting into the good steel or dishing it.

> 3 dayPurchased both the green and purple discs to remove paint and rust on a trailer repaint project. The green discs work very well for primarily paint removal not “coarse” enough for rust. The purple discs worked very well at both paint and rust removal. Lighter rust came off very easily, the heavy, deep pitted rust took more effort but removed enough to make other rust removal effective. With some effort too, mill scale on sheet metal came off. The pads last for a pretty long time even while taking off heavy rust. Very impressed with the 3MCubitron abrasives, I plan to try the belts next on my 2” x 48” belt sander.

> 3 dayI purchased this to remove mill scale. It worked great for a while, removing mill scale from curved surfaces. When I then used it on a flat piece of metal, it was by that point clogged up with mill scale residue. The only solution for mill scale is to soak the metal in acid. Muriatic acid will remove it fast, in just a few minutes. White vinegar will work in 4 to 5 hours, or overnight. Don’t buy this pad for removing mill scale. You’ll be disappointed.

> 3 dayDecent at removing hot rolled millscale when new but gets very hard to use and requires a lot of pressure once it starts to wear, I just used an Aluminum Oxide grinding wheel to get the millscale off and a flap disc to smooth it out. Faster and cheaper even though you’re going over it twice. These weren’t worth the money for me. Three stars since they did work well when they worked and left a beautiful finish.

> 3 dayAmazing attachment! Note that this is the 3m quick change disc; it screws onto the arbor, and it will be flush with the end. If youre like me, youll freak out because now theres no room for the lock nut at the end. After scouring the internet, going to the hardware store and checking other grinders for longer arbors, and wondering if I needed some adapter, I finally found a video that says to just screw it on and go!. I was happy but did waste some time haha. Hard to tell on demo videos, but this will leave some scuffs if you arent careful and dig in, this will easily buff out with higher grit discs (I got a ridiculous polish following up with just 240).
