For me the Stanley tape rules are the gold standard.Clear and accurate scales with a durable end hook and all in a case that has the corners rounded off so it doesnt wear holes in pockets.I dont clip it to a belt or pocket because its too easy to scratch surrounding furniture,so this matters.This model isnt as bulky as the larger tape rules and has been my everyday choice for some years.They do eventually wear out,but not until long after lesser versions would have found their way to the bin.

Different quality to the Stanley STA533896 FatMax. Very hard to lock and unlock smoothly. My Wife couldn’t lock it at all so returned it and bought another Stanley STA533896 FatMax. The last one of these lasted nearly 20 years. Better quality is better value. I now understand why this plastic one was so heavily discounted!

Erfüllt alle Erwartungen in der gewohnten Stanley-Qualität. Ein gewichtiges Teil in sehr guter und robuster Ausführung. Auf dem Maßband ist eine Seite metrisch und die andere zöllig unterteilt, wobei die zöllige Seite die typischen Markierungen alle 16 Zoll bzw. bei 19,2 Zoll etc. besitzt. Das Band lässt sich tatsächlich rund 3,6m ausziehen ohne abzuknicken. Wenn man den Haken an die Stirnseite bspw. einer Dachlatte oder eines Brettes anlegt und das Band auszieht und am anderen Ende abstellt um Abstände anzureißen, braucht man die Sperre nicht einlegen, da die Gummisohle des Gehäuses verhindert, dass die (starke) Rückholfeder das Gehäuse Richtung Haken zieht; so ist schnelles Arbeiten möglich. Bin voll zufrieden.

After my previous tape measure was damaged after only a few months use I bought this Fatmax Tape because I wanted a heavy duty one that could take knocks and spills during our renovation project of our house. It certainly appears to be of robust construction and design. I also like the larger sized figures displayed which can be easily read without squinting too hard. Upto now I am pleased with the tape measure and hope to have a lot of use from it.
