> 24 hourPeriodically I get severe lower back spasms that come with excruciating pain and make me unable to stand or sit. I don’t like taking muscle relaxers unless I absolutely have to. This machine has made my recovery faster and relieved paid so I can function.

> 24 hourI bought this post my pain doctor after being in a automobile accident. I know it doesnt fix the reason for the pain but it sure helps tone down the stabbing feeling until I can get the problem fixed.

> 24 hourMy PT specifically recommended this product to treat my bladder pain. Its awkward getting the electrodes to stick where they need to for that just because of my bloated potbelly, and I had to play around with the treatment settings to optimize them for myself, but it really does help with the pain. I use it typically once a day. The electrodes are somewhat annoying to manage, at first sticking tightly to everything they touch to the point that its difficult to peel them off the sheet or adjust placement, then after ~5 uses lose so much adhesiveness that they sometimes have trouble sticking properly where I want them. I tend to get about 10-15 days out of a set of electrodes. A little water on them restores their adhesion, at least for another 2 uses or so. Definitely read the manual before use. YMMV depending on what area youre treating and just plain what works for you, but though I find it kind of a nuisance to set up & take apart/put away, its greatly reduced my pain levels.

> 24 hourI am using this for neuropathy in my feet. I cant tell if it helps yet but it certainly cant hurt. The only problem is batteries dont last long. After 30 days, it quit working and of course, I cant return it now. *** I am upgrading my review because it may be the pads that need to be replaced. I will see. Sorry.

> 24 hourMy husband and I have previously owned several other 7000 model TENS machines of this brand, both of which still work, but are about 12 years old now and are getting a bit worn out, so we decided to purchase a new one. This new edition of model 7000 is essentially the same in the way it looks externally and how it functions as the older version, so if you are replacing a worn-out 7000 model, this upgraded version will not confuse you with unnecessary changes in its interface. What is different is that the manufacturer has added some helpful new options for settings, the most significant to me, and the only one that Ive opted to try out so far, is that if you choose to go to sleep using this TENS unit, it will turn itself off after about an hour, which the previous model did not do. This is an excellent feature because it spares the battery, which saves the user money because 9-volt batteries are not cheap. This device comes with a set of leads and 4 electrodes as a complete starter kit. The electrodes lasted me a total usage time of about 6 to 7 hours before they wore out. That is not in my experience a terrific amount of time for TENS electrodes to last. Ive had other brands of electrodes that fit both this model and my older model of this TENS machine which have lasted a total of about 9 or 10 hours. Note that if you use this machine at all frequently, you will want to immediately order some more electrodes so you wont run out. The 4 electrodes included in this kit is not a lot. The basic principle of how this TENS machine functions, via mild electrical stimulation of muscles, is no different from any other TENS machine. This is good news because this particular brand is quite reasonably priced at the lower end of the scale of cost for TENS machines. All TENS machines are extremely helpful for relieving muscle pain. And for people who suffer from fibromyalgia, in particular, this home therapy is far more effective and a lot safer than taking dangerous prescription drugs with terrible side effects, such as Lyrica. As another example of utilizing this TENS machine rather than relying on dangerous prescription pain drugs, I recently have endured an excruciating bout of shingles, and this TENS unit has been a lifesaver in helping me to bear the terrible pain. It doesnt so much as directly turn off the burning, electric-shock, neuropathic pain that is such a devastating feature of shingles, and which anti-inflammatory OTC medications and prescription opioids are ineffective at controlling. Instead, in my experience, it works to distract the brain from experiencing the neuropathic pain of shingles either entirely, or mutes the pain to a bearable level. As such, it can simultaneously act not only as a form of temporary pain relief, but functions as a crucial tool to help prevent the development of postherpetic neuralgia. Note that TENS should be an adjunct treatment, and not a replacement for the antiviral, prescription drug prescribed for shingles which, to be effective, must be taken within 72 hours of the outbreak of the first set of blisters from the shingles rash. Sadly, statistically, this drug has only a 50-50 chance of mitigating a shingles attack, preventing a future attack, and preventing postherpetic neuralgia. When it comes to preventing the terrible curse of postherpetic neuralgia, its important, therefore, to have as many options as possible on the table. This TENS option is so inexpensive, and so completely safe, that one essentially has nothing to lose by using it as an adjunct to taking the antiviral medication. Doctors who specialize in the treatment of chronic pain have indicated that a main reason for the development of chronic pain, after the original cause of the pain has been healed in the body, is that dysfunctional neural pathways have become established when pain lasts longer than 8 to 12 weeks after the original cause of the pain has been healed. This is the point at which doctors will change the diagnosis of the pain from acute to chronic. Utilizing a TENS unit can help prevent those dysfunctional pathways from becoming entrenched. And if one already has long-established chronic pain, using a TENS unit can be a way to help retrain those dysfunctional pathways. I also believe that, given that using a TENS unit like this one is helpful for the nerve pain of shingles, which is a disease caused by the chicken pox virus which damages nerves, that TENS might also potentially be an excellent, inexpensive and convenient home remedy for the mitigation and potential outright healing of other types of chronic, neuropathic pain as well, if the pain is the type that is post-trauma, rather than pain from ongoing, uncontrolled disease. But even in the case of the latter, a TENS unit can be an excellent adjunct therapy when dangerous prescription drugs are doing an ineffective job at alleviating the devastating suffering caused by neuropathic pain.

> 24 hourRecommended to me by my Kaiser nurse. I looked up the video for directions on how to use it. It’s easy, pain free, 30 minute session. Was told it is safe to use every day. I use it every 3-4 days and it seems to help. I do have neuropathy in my toes so it may be making it worse. I’m not exactly sure if it is the cause of worsening neuropathy or not just yet. Used 6 weeks so far.

> 24 hourMy old unit was smaller and I could no longer get pads. Chose this by the ratings and was not disappointed. Easy to use and really worked.

> 24 hourI’m giving this the 5 star review that it deserves because It works the way a battery powered tens unit should. zBUT, there is no auto shut-off. So, if you don’t turn it off right away, or if you fall asleep and your “massage” ends, the battery continues to drain. I wasted batteries this way until I bought a rechargeable tens unit that turns itself off when my treatment time is over. Tens units are a huge blessing for pain relief.

> 24 hourIve heard of tens units and Ive definitely heard mixed reviews from people that have had them administered both professionally and at home with units like this and people either love it or hate it and I can only assume it boils down to the Proficiency in using the machine, as in how well you can place it and how well you understand how to use the machine and also what the root of your pain is. I cant speak for the people that hate it but for me personally I wish I had tried this thing years ago because works it perfectly for me. I have a spinal injury that will never heal and because of that the muscles around my spine are constantly overtight, I would have to get about five massages a week just to keep them relaxed and chill and often times I have a very hard time bending over to pick things up off the floor or even getting up out of chairs because it hurts so bad but I can put this on, two pads on each side of my spine just a few inches away from it because bear in mind you dont need to put any tens unit over your spine or joints, but after sitting in a chair with this on for 30 minutes I dont feel any relief while the unit is on but just a few short minutes after the 30 minute session is over and I pull the pads off my pain level changes for the better drastically, like if I couldnt bend over before I sat down and used this now I can bend over just fine after the treatment. This is definitely not a permanent solution because pain is your bodys way of telling you that something is wrong and until you fix the problem pain is never going to go away but that being said this definitely grants some temporary relief. For me Im good with using this about once a day unless I get out and do a lot of activity that requires bending and twisting then I may pop it on for a second time at the end of the day. I was skeptical of the reusability of the pads because usually you just toss sticky pads away after one use but I have used this unit with the same pads on several times now and they are still sticking exactly like theyre supposed to. I dont know how many more uses I will get out of them so I ordered some replacement pads but Im pretty impressed with how well they have held up so far. Also they dont leave a big gooey mess on you like the electrode sticky pads for an EKG or some other medical testing tend to do. I hate trying to scrub glue off of my skin and on the very first day that I used these they left a tiny bit of residue on my skin but it came right off with a washcloth and since then Ive not had any residue left behind at all. If youre in pain and youre hesitating to buy this because you dont know if it will work just go ahead and do it, I mean its Amazon if you try it and you dont like it send the thing back you know? Worst case scenario you wasted a little bit of your time if it doesnt work for you best case scenario you actually get some pain relief and for those of us who have been living with constant pain daily for years upon years that is something you cant put a price on
