Ive had really bad lower back pain that resurfaced and is probably worse than it was a year ago. A year ago the physical therapist put me on a TENS device every visit and I feel it was a huge help. This go around I figured I would my own unit. I feel like this TENS 7000 Unit was better than one at the physical therapist. A few times I was able to max out the machine at the PT but this device Ive only been able to handle 50% power. ITS STRONG! I also love that I can adjust the different sides, pulses, frequencies etc... WELL WORTH THE MONEY and heres to HOPEFULLY some relieved back pain.

I highly recommend this TENS unit. My physical therapist uses this one and I figured her endorsement was a good enough reason to try it. After two months of regular use, Im not disappointed. Best one Ive tried. The last one I tried before this had a large display screen that cracked horribly the first time I dropped it, which meant I could no longer use many of the settings because I couldnt see them. Plus the electrodes would work intermittently even though it was brand new. On the other hand, Ive dropped my TENS 7000 unit *numerous* times on my hardwood floors due to clumsiness and weak hands from RA, and it still works perfectly. It doesnt have a big display screen, so theres not much that could crack. And the electrodes have worked reliably since day one. Another factor to consider is that on a lot of other units (including the last one I tried) you can accidentally bump the intensity dial or other settings, but on the TENS 7000 all the controls have covers over them so you dont surprise yourself by bumping the intensity up to some insane level and then panicking and scrambling to turn it down or off. The TENS 7000 has numerous signal pattern options for variety so your nerves dont adapt to a single monotonous pattern, and can be set to run for up to an hour at a time. It also has two different channels so you can use four electrodes at once if you want. It takes a 9V battery. When I use it ALL DAY, a battery will typically last me about 3-4 days, and thats actually a LOT of hours when you think about it. Most users dont run them for hours at a time. Tip: Its helpful to wipe the electrodes down with rubbing alcohol after every couple uses or so to remove any oils that can build up, which maintains signal clarity. For anyone who hasnt tried a TENS unit, they really do help with a lot of different types/sources of pain. They work by delivering electrical impulses which disrupt the pain signals being transmitted through nerves, including the sciatic nerve. Ive heard feedback from folks with various conditions that cause nerve pain who say they also get some relief from TENS units. Doesnt hurt to try. Besides interrupting nerve pain signals, Ive also found that the impulses can often get my spasming muscles to at least partially relax. When Im focused on the pain in my low back, Ill put an electrode on either side of my spine around L5. When sciatic pain (which I get on my right side) is bad, Ill put one electrode on the right side of my spine around L5-S1, and Ill put the other electrode further down the path of the sciatic nerve on my bum, wherever the pain is strongest in that area. That placement effectively interrupts/dulls the signal for me so that it lessens the intensity of the pain. Often it interrupts the pain signal enough that it only radiates partway down my leg, and on a good day it sometimes stops it from radiating much at all. Left uncontrolled, that pain can bring me to my knees in tears (not exaggerating), so anything that brings it into a tolerable range is hugely successful in my opinion. For me its helpful about 95% of the time. There are some days where I wear it from the time I get up to the time I go to bed, or sometimes even when I go to bed if the pain wont let up when I lay down. And Ill wear it when I run errands, or just any time Im doing anything that involves sitting, standing, or moving around. It latches onto to my pocket fairly securely with the built-in clip. I change the impulse pattern every hour when I restart it so my nerves dont adapt and become desensitized to the signal. One pair of electrodes will usually last through quite a few uses, and you can buy replacement electrodes in bulk on Amazon for a reasonable price. I paid $25 for a 48-pack (24 pairs) and I typically go through a couple pairs per week.

I needed a new tens machine and my PT recommended this one. It works well, but after 5x using it, the battery died! Not sure if it’s the battery that came with it was old, or the machine uses a lot of juice. ??

    Greater than one week

My PT specifically recommended this product to treat my bladder pain. Its awkward getting the electrodes to stick where they need to for that just because of my bloated potbelly, and I had to play around with the treatment settings to optimize them for myself, but it really does help with the pain. I use it typically once a day. The electrodes are somewhat annoying to manage, at first sticking tightly to everything they touch to the point that its difficult to peel them off the sheet or adjust placement, then after ~5 uses lose so much adhesiveness that they sometimes have trouble sticking properly where I want them. I tend to get about 10-15 days out of a set of electrodes. A little water on them restores their adhesion, at least for another 2 uses or so. Definitely read the manual before use. YMMV depending on what area youre treating and just plain what works for you, but though I find it kind of a nuisance to set up & take apart/put away, its greatly reduced my pain levels.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. With the medications I have taken for the symptoms the worst of the pain and stiffness has been mostly absent until about a week ago. Last week I woke up with a very stiff back, shoulders, neck, bottom, and hips that was unrelated to any exercise or injury. Increasing my medications helped lessen the pain and stiffness (muscle relaxer) but it was a very difficult week. My sleeping was also very bad and my fitness tracking watch recorded very poor or even worse sleep for the whole week. Anyways I did some research for ways to help this and found that TENS could help with my symptoms. I purchased this device and received it yesterday. Since then I have used it 5 to 7 times for 20 to 25 minutes on different areas of my back. I use it between level 3 and level 4 with normal mode and default settings but adjusted the time to 20 to 25 minutes. On every place I used it the pain and stiffness is either reduced by a large extent or totally eliminated. The medications I take dont do that. They only provide a temporarily reduction in pain and stiffness. I am very impressed in how well this works. My only negative is the case on my TENS7000 does not have the plastic part that is supposed to latch so the case does not lock closed in the closed position. This appears to be a defect in the manufacturing of my case. Its not a terrible thing but at the moment I kept the plastic outer bag to make sure the items dont fall out of the case. I would normally subtract 1 from my rating for such a problem but the device works so well I can give this a pass..

This unit gave me the relief I needed throughout the day to keep me going. I haven’t been diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome, however, I have been experiencing a tight piriformis that I’ve been getting massaged out, TENS’d, Heat Therapy and adjusted at the Chiropractic Center here locally. Those visits were weekly or bi-weekly and felt the need for relief during the week. I ended up researching TENS Units, and this one I felt could be discreet and have the power I need to assist with relief. I took a chance, even with some of the negative reviews. Immediately after apply and running the unit I felt relief. Relief I felt I received from the therapy I am receiving at my chiropractic center. I had begun, before using this, experiencing numbness radiating down the right side of my thigh to my right foot. It was more annoying than anything. For the first two weeks of using I put two pads on/near my piriformis. I work at a Bank so I would put my work clothes on and could easily hide the cord and the unit has a clip that I could clip to my pants. Every two hours I turned it on for the 60 minutes max time limit. I had no more pain or annoyance. After further self research, I found that my sitting posture was affecting my piriformis. I had always made sure I was sitting up with my chair in the highest setting (height), and that I was sitting on the edge of my seat. (Idk why I did this). I found relief lowering my chair, my desk at work (it’s adjustable), where my knees are in alignment with my hips. I haven’t had any numbness since changing this posture. However, I continue to use the TENS 7000 on achy muscles, on my piriformis if I am doing a lot of walking or yard work. I am actually getting ready to purchase new pads. The package came with 4 and I’ve noticed that the pads are getting less sticky - they still stick, but purchasing more to have on hand. I’ve already had to replace the battery but I got several hours of relief before having to do that. This product actually gave me hope! I was about to start asking for either Botox or Cortisone shots for relief.

I initially bought this product to help my husband with some deep tissue neck/shoulder pain. He did not like it, it did not help. But when my teenage son and nephews got a hold of it they had a blast... so I guess its a win.

  • I love having a two in one item. It’s durable and sturdy yet lightweight! I even have room to store items in this box/frame.
