> 3 dayI was so enthusiastic about this product. A screw-free design was exactly what I was looking for (I even googled it), as Id like to move my small Frigidaire AC from room to room as needed. I dont plan to use the AC extensively anyway, just need it for those random hot days on the coast. Thus I really wanted to avoid putting holes and hardware all over my window. I carefully read the description and my Andersen vinyl-clad windows fell neatly within the specs described. No rep contacted me after the sale, as other reviewers have stated. The shelf arrived in two days, and was incredibly easy to put together. Its a slick little shelf that is engineered smartly and sturdily. Every part was pressure-button adjustable; I didnt even need a screwdriver to put it together. The pressure buttons have a front and back, with the back slightly offset so there is no risk of the bar sliding uncontrollably when you depress the button. Thoughtful safety feature. Of course then I carried it to the window and attempted to install it. No matter how I situated it, I couldnt make it sit flush...with anything. The brief instructions are void of adequate diagrams, and the one photograph online doesnt sufficiently illustrate how the sill stop wings sit. The frame rail sits inside the window on the sill. But when the wings are extended to the window frame, they are notched in a very specific pattern which doesnt necessarily reflect that of the window trim. If the trim has any profile other than a plain 90 degree corner, it isnt going to fit cleanly. So there was a sizable gap between the frame rail and the sides of the window. Once seated on the sill, it tilted precariously on the outside portion, as the outer window ledge is angled downward for drainage (arent they all?), leaving only the legs to support the unit outside the house. This still might have been acceptable, but the angles were so sharp that, once the square upper sash was lowered onto the tilted top rail of the AC, there were gaps all around - a job worthy of a can of spray foam. The lower rail of the AC didnt even fit square within the frame rail, since the shelf was angled and the AC wanted to sit relatively square. When the AC side panels were extended, the resulting side gaps were enormous. I didnt expect an airtight fit, but the fit was so haphazard it seemed like the AC and the shelf were built for two entirely different purposes. The AC is already designed to seat with a downward draining angle; perhaps it was just poor fit that gave the shelf itself an approximate 10 - 15 degree slant. If the AC rail wasnt lodged inside the frame rail, it would have simply slid off the shelf. After adjusting and shifting and angling and maneuvering, I finally pulled the shelf out and rested my little AC directly on the sill, lowered the upper sash and extended the side panels. I included the picture herein, because with a near-perfect fit like this, I dont think I need to drop $100 on a shelf that will move my 41lb AC into a cockeyed position that will require miles of insulation and a handful of screws. That kind of defeats the goal of keeping it portable, so unfortunately the shelf is going back. On the bright side, this is a rockin little AC, and the $100 refund comes close to paying for a second one - maybe I dont need to move it from room to room after all.

16-06-2025It looks like a high-quality item, but it did not work for my window. Build quality is very good, almost over-engineered. The only issue that I have with this bracket is that for the type of window this would work for, you probably wouldnt even need such a heavy-duty bracket, since windows with adequate ledges can bear the weight of an air conditioner far better than those without. For those types of windows, there are far cheaper options (shims, 2 x 4s, etc) that would do the job just fine. Also, based upon the description and my measurements, this *should* have worked for me, but unfortunately, it did not - my ledge was just a hair too shallow. This possibility is something you might want to keep in mind, because returning it will be really inconvenient, should you need to. I do wish this would have worked. With this bracket, you could put a really big air conditioner in your window and rest secure knowing that it would be well supported. If a bracket is required by your HOA or apartment complex, this is the one. It really is a very nice bracket. Even though I had to return it, I give it five stars overall.

> 3 dayThis is very well constructed and very sturdy... but is not designed to fit what should be a normal installation. There is a 1 space from the outside of my window track to the edge of my siding. Which is similar to most houses I have owned. This bracket will not work unless there is at least a 3 space when set on its most compact setting. And it is adjustable to accommodate up to a 9-10 gap.. which I have never seen in any residential setting.

> 3 dayYes, it doesnt fit windows without a ledge on the outside of the window. But it looked a bit sturdier than others on the market, and the seller does state that it wont work with windows without an outside sill, so not theyre fault. I was able to make it work by getting a wide lead bar and a 1X3 board from the hardware store and using it as a brace on the inside of the window buy inserting them both into the hollow space in the front wings that go on the inside of the window. Both extend out a few inches and brace it against the inside molding of the window on each side. The metal bar was because I have a heavier AC, and the board would have bowed. Not the best solution, but it did look sturdier than the others on the market so Im not sending it back. Some of the other brands only had 1 stabilizing foot in the middle, I like that this has 2. And I like the fact that I dont have to drill holes in my window sill. So Ill nix one star because I wish it fit windows without an outside ledge. Oh, and the holes arent supposed to line up on the leg depth adjustment. Its a little confusing, but it was designed that way to allow you to make more subtle depth adjustments and still keep the metal sturdy by having fewer holes drilled into the metal. Kind of confusing, but I understood why once I started trying to adjust them. Im happy I dont have to drill holes into my window sill.

> 3 dayWith other reviews on this item I was hopeful this product would do as advertised. It is functional as a support for my large window Air conditioner. If you want something that will hold up large 80+ lb ac unit you will get it here. The reason I did not give it a 5 star is because it did not come with clear instructions and there are no videos online that address this specific install. Putting it together is a no brainer i had it together in around a minute. The install on the other hand took me around a half hour to get the support system in place accurately. Making sure to have the tilt if any to the outside not to the inside of the window was a bit difficult. I live on 3rd story of the building so it is difficult to dangle out the window and adjust. It did finally get to the spot I needed; however it left many large gaps to be filled. We have windows that are tilt in to clean and deep casement. If this is the type you have, make sure you get rigid foam boards to fill gaps because there will be many. Once filled and in place it works wonderful. No longer do I have to worry about the unit falling out of the window.

> 3 dayI used this with a large 14,000 BTU A/C. It was easy to put together and get the A/C installed without having to drill a single hole. My biggest issue was that the instructions were vague and were concentrated solely on the bracket itself. There were no tips or any other types of information that had helped me get a larger window A/C unit installed with this bracket so I had to rely on competitor videos for a better understanding of how it should work. With that said, Id still buy it again now that I know how to get the A/C mounted in the window with the bracket.

> 3 dayI thought we were going to have to hire someone to secure our window air conditioner in the attic, but this works GREAT!! It was easy to assemble, and easy to install in the window. The air conditioner is now securely in place. When I was searching some commenters thought it was too expensive, but I would rather pay a little more to have something I know is secure. We just had new siding and windows installed last year, so we also like that this doesnt need to be attached to the outside wall to be secure -- so there are no holes in our new exterior!! Love it!!

Greater than one weekThe bracket is awesome! Love that there are no screws and everything clicks together simply. It has a lot of adjustability. Worked in our old wood double hung window frame (wood constructiion). It does need a flat wall for it to provide proper support. We have one window above a roof eyebrow and the shelf didn’t work there. At first I was afraid it would be too small for the large 10,000 BTU unit, but it sits very nicely and securely on it. The bracket is better quality and construction than the AC (which arrived with a cracked plastic cover).

> 3 dayHigh-quality product, making installation of window a/c really simple. Im using it for a 10k BTU Friedrich chill premier window a/c, its very sturdy and secured. Good overall, but theres one design flaw which is that a/c is installed level, and not slightly slanted towards the outside as recommended by the manufacturer. This happens because the brackets slot where the ACs bottom railing is sitting in is pushed out further from the window seal. Fortunately with my specific AC unit, this didnt cause any water to come into the house. Also, $90 is a bit pricey for a piece of metal bracket.
