Greater than one weekI was very impressed with the apparent quality and workmanship of this unit (very versatile for just about any size and application) so I was very disappointed when my contractor tried to install it but said it would not work with my new Frigidaire window a/c unit. Im not a contractor so I cant say for sure why not, but I believe it had to do with the way the base of the a/c was made. They spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, but could not. Amazon return was smooth and painless - but I wish it would have worked. My a/c was installed in a window right over the street and if for no other reason but for visual assurance I wanted a beefy looking shelf unit to support it, and I am sure this would have been perfect -- even though Frigidaire said the a/c did not need any additional support. My 18,000 btu unit was very heavy and the contractor ended up fabricating his own supports for my peace of mind :-). I wish I could give further detailed information as to why it would not work with my a/c (it fit into the window perfectly) to help those reading this review decide whether to purchase - but Im not exactly sure what the contractors were up against but I do know they tried very hard to get it to work.

> 3 dayI used this with a large 14,000 BTU A/C. It was easy to put together and get the A/C installed without having to drill a single hole. My biggest issue was that the instructions were vague and were concentrated solely on the bracket itself. There were no tips or any other types of information that had helped me get a larger window A/C unit installed with this bracket so I had to rely on competitor videos for a better understanding of how it should work. With that said, Id still buy it again now that I know how to get the A/C mounted in the window with the bracket.

Greater than one weekI loved this easy to assemble, adjustable, very sturdy brace for my window a/c unit. Unfortunately, I could not use it because the shape of the actual air conditioner and window sill combination did not allow the a/c to rest on the brace properly. Bummer—it was exactly what I needed, and would have made seasonal removal so much easier. So there is slightly more to it than measuring the dimensions as suggested in the instructions, but I’m not sure how I would have known without buying it and trying it. (I have the very popular GE Profile PHC08LYQ1 (6150 BTU) and the similar 8100 BTU. They have the same cabinet, so didn’t work with either one, but the problem was how the a/c had to sit in my particular window frame).

> 3 dayAlthough this support seems expensive, its worth every penny. It make your install a breeze. No tools needed for the support at all, only for the AC curtains (a screwdriver). I take that back. I did need a small level for the support to get the air conditioner draining correctly. Correction: Im pretty sure if I remember right, I think it has a built-in level.

Greater than one weekThis was very easy to install. My only complaint is it is expensive.

> 3 dayThis mount is a very heavy/sturdy piece of hardware. It adjusted and mounted easily. It definitely made installing my 10,000 BTU air conditioner much simpler. My only complaint is sealing up the gap around the bottom on the ac unit and finding a way to hold the side flaps against the window frame. Overall I am satisfied with the mount and I am considering purchasing another one,

> 3 dayI struggled for hours, trying to figure out exactly how to position the bracket. I then emailed the company and received a prompt reply, along with photos which depicted the tabs positioning better than the product insert or the online video. The companys owner asked if my windows are wood (they are) and noted that the bracket works better with vinyl or aluminum windows. I was able to establish a satisfactory, though not perfect, installation, which required slightly bending the brackets base against the inside window trim, which permits the air conditioner to tilt slightly to the outside for drainage. As with most window air conditioners, some filling in with foam is also necessary, but this is not a difficult task.

> 3 dayStorm windows are a pain for window ACs. You typically need at least an inch of vertical space. In my case in addition to drilling a piece of wood to the window sill to rest the bracket on, the AC curtain was at least two inches behind the brackets design position for it (thick window molding). As a result there was a 2-3 inch vertical gap below the curtain and 1-2 inch gap below the AC unit itself. Its a fair amount of space to insulate. In the end installation was more work than a pair of bricks in a neighboring room and didnt feel much more secure. I have a bit of buyers remorse after spending $100.

Greater than one weekFirst, this went together very, very easily. I had it assembled, adjusted, and in the window in a few minutes. Sliding the A/C unit in place was very easy. But a couple thoughts on making it a bit better 1) The alternating pins are very clever, but need to be called out in the instructions. I thought something was wrong for a moment, until I realized how it was walking into place, moving one detent at a time. 2) its not clear in the instructions how the wings that hold the inside of the window frame are supposed to fit up against the window frame and trim. I ended up extending the wings as far as I could within the window (based on the flat portion on the bottom), and let the tabs reach as far as they could. 3) I padded the support against the window with some foam, and put some of the foam that came with my A/C unit (meant to be applied to the window sill) to the shelf in a few contact points to reduce the amount of metal-to-metal contact and vibration (its noticeably quieter, now).
