It works as described. I randomly turn lights on and off while on vacation. I also monitor energy usage of the two wall air-conditioners i have. I wish it would let me monitor i finer time than hours. But it does what i want.

What I like: - So far they work as advertised (instructions notwithstanding) - I like the energy monitoring feature and it seems to be reasonably accurate for my one test of a small load (light bulbs). - I havent tried any of the scheduling or timer features, but using the app to turn the relay on and off is responsive. What I dont like: - Its only 10 amps, not 15A or 20A. I knew they were only 10A before buying, but people who arent so familiar with what 10 amps means are going to plug in a space heater to one of these things and start a fire. - Yet another thing that requires an always-on internet connection to a big database that can be hacked. Why cant I just talk to the device directly using wifi or via bluetooth? If the company goes out of business does my plug stop working? - Theres an LED on it thats on when the power is on. I have enough LEDs in my life. I primarily bought these so I could use an Amazon Echo to turn on and off some lights that arent attached to a switched outlet. The instructions in the box (and on the website) say to search for an Alexa skill called TOPGREENER, but that doesnt exist. Frustrating. A bit of internet research led me to discover these plugs are a rebranded version of (or use tech from) some other Chinese company that Ive never heard of called Tuya. There is a Tuya skill available on the Alexa app, and a Tuya app. Basically, replace TOPGREENER with TUYA and the instructions work fine.

Firmware has been patched out of the box as of May 2022. Device is ultrasonically welded, and as such is impossible to get to for serial programming. Worthless for my needs, returning. Probably still works if you want your data stolen by Tuya or you want to eventually get forced into a monthly subscription.

The device feels plastic and cheap but its only the exterior feeling, the device seems to be a very robust one and works almost perfectly, the app is the only downside to it, its just another one of those tuya apps, if you recognize that name, then you know what I am saying, is a copy paste of another apps, and it feels a bit empty on some areas such as the power meter side, but it gets the job done, I wish they would put a bit more effort on the app and expand its capabilities, I am sure it is possible to do it though an app update, and it will greatly improve the possibilities and potencial of the device

Bought this little guy with the intent to use it to monitor power consumption on my 3d printer. Of course we decided to use it on the Xmas tree first. The plug linked up well with my google home and its as simple as saying hey google turn on the Christmas Tree I like the fact that i can check it when i am away from home and make sure everything is turned off just in case we forget. We also set up a schedule so the light turns off every night around bed time, just as an extra safety feature. As a side perk i have been randomly turning the light on while my girlfriend is home to make her think the house is haunted.

Purchased looking for monitoring plug that would still work with Tuya-convert. While only 10A, they do still work with Tasmota!

I had low expectations for these little guys seeing as they were quite a bit cheaper than comprable watt meters with a LED readout. But the ability to connect to Wi-Fi seemed convenient so I decided to give it a try. Theyve easily exceed any expectations and I might even buy a few more. The only issue was set-up was a bit challenging, at least for me. It took probably 10-15 minutes and several tries but eventually I got it to work with the app. I had better luck with the alternate pairing method or whatever its called so you might want to try that right off the bat. Also I think I may have erred by plugging them in before I was ready to pair, you may want to wait until you have the app ready to do that. The biggest pleasant surprise was the quality of the app. (You need to have the app to get any use out of this product.) Ive used a bunch of cheaply made companion apps but this was definitely not one of them. It works very smoothly and the UI is great. Its a bit annoying that you have to create a free account with TOPGREENER to use it but I guess that should be expected these days. It prompts you to share your location but you dont need to do this for it to work. Once set up the app makes it very easy to toggle the power of your plugs, as well as view the current and historical power consumption. If you unplug the units they immediately reconnect to the app when you plug them in again so no worries there. One last thing, I noticed someone here was alarmed that the watts on the readout dont equal volts * amps. Thats because this formula doesnt hold true for alternating current. I cant comment on the accuracy of the wattage figures (which are shown to the nearest 0.1 watts) but they seem to be reasonable. EDIT: Had a space heater (1300 watts) running through the plug for about an hour and when I disconnected it the unit was noticeably warm. I dont think it was a fire risk or anything but just something you might want to be aware of, especially for even higher-wattage appliances.

I missed the return window by 3 days so I’m stuck with it. It does not give you live power consumption so that sucks. Sometimes updates every few min standing next to it, other times take 15-30 min or more. I’ll prob throw these in the garage sale bin and try another brand......

The outlet works just like any other smart outlet out there. I recommend setting it up with the Smart Life app as it is the most universally compatible. I have things setup so that when it is time to wake up, my lights turn in and my desktop boots up. You do not need to work with electrical wires, the max wattage is the same as the outlet you plug it into and it is compatible with ittt, Google, and Alexa! The icing on the cake is that it has an accurate energy meter built in. It doesnt update often enough for you to do Gamer Nexus total system power charts but you can get a good idea of your systems energy requirements. My roommates and I have a challenge to see who can use the least energy with our gaming rigs. Last month I used 36kw while they use 72kw! Every little bit helps. I only wish I could measure appliances as well.

Wi-Fi enabled square mini smart plug-in with energy monitoring capability. Enables remote control of your appliance through the TOPGREENER app. Monitor and control use of your appliances from your smart device. Also compatible with the Tuya and Smart Life apps.
