Apple keeps removing more and more features from the iMac to either increase their profits or to reduce the price as maybe not everyone needs all the extra ports. Just wish this nifty base add-on was offered in the Apple store, instead of me having to spend several hours discovering it on the internet. Was able to find one that matched the orange color.

I had this from October 2022, always worked well with a 2tb ssd installed. Didn’t push it much, only backed up small files randomly and had no issues. Recently I had my big ipad backed to my imac, and I was copying the back up file to my SSD and the dock made a funny noice and ejected the drive (and the USB thumbdrive) mid file transfer. Initially after unplugging and re-plugging the dock it showed the SSD and I could transfer files. But now this has become more frequent. And the SSD is not even showing up when I plug it in. Bit frustrating when you have 2TB of storage which you can’t use safely.

Wasn’t real sure it would be strong enough to hold under the weight of the Mac. After feeling durability of the item didn’t question it and put the Mac right on top of it.

Fits perfectly with iMac foot and can hold a 2TB SSD for auto back-up. Provides fast ports for thumb drives portable SSDs and more. Excellent addition to the iMac!

Nice quality addition to a 24, fits like a glove, exact metal finish to the silver Mac. Ports could marked better, but a real necessity for optional connections.

Apple missed the boat! This thing is a perfect match for the iMac. Mines the blue one and it’s perfect. Form, fit, finish spot on! Performance on par with what you’d expect. I put a drive in mine and it’s working flawless for Time Machine back ups. If you have an iMac this is a no brainier of a purchase.

It fit perfectly and you cannot tell it is an added piece to my Mac.
