> 3 dayI have had this product since 2018. I have used it on a number of devices over the years. Having bought a new laptop, I needed help with getting the product to work correctly on it. It seemed that no matter what I tried, it would not work. Then I emailed tech support at vidbox.company. They responded quickly and gave me numerous options to fix the connection issues. It all worked well, just have a minor tracking issue left, due to the new laptop using an AMD Athlon Gold processor. The issue is minor. I learned that this processor does not do well with high demand programs. This product, which does work quite well, works best with an Intel processor.

> 3 dayIt does exactly what I wanted to do. I have been able to save my camcorder recordings on DVD and on my computer. I have been able to share the videos with my family as well.

> 3 dayI had rated this 4 stars before I got my new computer and Windows 8; it definitely works better with Windows 8 (and 10?). I have used this to create CDs from old audio tapes and DVDs from old VHS tapes and am quite pleased. Quality of output is not high due to RGA or S-video limitations but that is as expected. I was glad to be able to recycle my old home VHS recordings (since VHS players are now hard to find).

> 3 dayI was able to successfully preserve old tapes of my childhood thanks to this product. The software (while visually outdated) ran well on Windows 10. I ended up running the captured content through Sony Vegas to compress the file size and fix some small sound issues (mono sound only coming through one speaker). This was not a quick project and I didnt expect it to be since I had well over 20 hours of tape to go through. But it is 100% worth it. Act now people. Remember, tapes will degrade over time but video files wont.

> 3 dayI have used the 5.0 version and it worked fine copying old VHS home movies. I bought this one to use on a computer without a optical drive (cd tray) and could not find online where to download the software. Finally I saw in small print with the link in instructions under the first step. I had missed it earlier and tried to search online. Version 8 has more options, like saving as a media file rather than trying to just burn a CD, and it works well. Quality is mostly dependent on your old VCR.

> 3 dayI bought this for my mom for Christmas. I saw a fella using it at work, he showed me the features and knew it was the perfect thing. It converts anything youve recorded into digital format. The ultimate security for those old Christmas and vacation videos long forgotten in a drawer.

> 3 dayEasy to install S/W and hardware. Had problems with the VHS conversion but could have been my equipment. Beta conversion to DVD went well after a learning curve. Users guide installs with S/W installation which is handy. Support answered my questions vis e-mail in a timely manner and helped with a problem. Read the Users Guide thoroughly before you start because capturing, editing, and burning can be tricky. Suggest use of DVD-RW when first burning project. Then if o.k. remaining discs can be burned using one time burn DVDs. That way cuts down on bad burns and discs that have to be discarded. Warning: My Sony Blu-Ray DVD player would not play DVDs with title and menus in content. Eliminating them did not bother me but it might some users. Did not try editing.

> 3 dayAfter recording 40 DVDs excellent results, also have used on VHS and Super 8 cam recorder. I used the picture software that accompanies the product to pull photos from my scanner and crop and reprint. I was a little skeptical when I read the other reviews but as sold on this product. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to save their old VHS tapes movies to purchase this product.

> 3 dayDelivered as expected; works as expected. Ive been using the device for 2 weeks. I like the ability to view the VHS recordings on my computer screen as I decide which recordings to save. After I was using it for several hours, the picture failed. I telephoned the help desk and the rep advised that he was aware of the problem and that I should be able to regain viewing the picture by trying a different USB port or re-booting my computer. So far, the problem seems to occur only after several hours of usage. If the problem continues, the Honestech VHS to DVD wont be useful for extended viewing and recordings.

Greater than one weekThis is an awesome product. My only dilemma is that I cannot transfer all of my VHS tapes because the kind that I have requires an adapter and no company makes an adapter for 8 mm tapes. This situation is not with the Honestech product, it is with those manufacture who make a product and do not make the accompanying product to transfer HOORAY FOR THIS PRODUCT. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD. THIS IS HOW SATISFIED I AM WITH IT. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT PRODUCT. NOW IF YOU CAN ONLY MAKE A PRODUCT THAT I CAN USE TO TRANSFER MY 8 MM TAPES TO DVD, THAT WOULD BE GREAT. BE THE FIRST TO DO SO!
