> 3 dayI bought that drive to replace a 2.5 solid state drive. I thought it would be marginal improvement and was pleasantly surprised. Make sure that you have an M.2 interface on the motherboard.

> 3 dayThe WD Blue SN550 NVMe is very easy to install. Just make sure that it is compatible with your mother board and has the same key . This Model has an M.2 2280 interface. Also make sure the motherboard has the little screw needed to hold the SSD it in place on the opossite side of the connector. Slide the SN550 it in in a little slanted position in the motherboards M.2 Socket 3 until it clicks in palce; thne hold it down while you screw gently in place in the opposite side. I used it to install Windows 10 on it (latest version of windows have the device driver for use during installation, or you can download the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage drivers and have it on a thum drive so you can use it during the Windows installation process (when it presents you with the available recognized drives in your PC). You need to download the WD SSD DAshboard Software after you finish installing windows and make sure all your drivers (Device Administration) are up to date. Youl need it to monitor the disk health, performance and tweakings like Trim, as well as to get notifications of the SN550 firmware. Ill recommend this product for home use and video editing, which is mostly what I do. I dont use my PC for gaming so I wouldnt know if it fits that need. P.S. I needed to ask WD a couple of questions and did it via chat. Great response time and they helped me with a couple of issued regarding the drivers during windows installation.

> 3 dayInstalled on an aging Gigabyte z170xp motherboard for dedicated gaming as it only has a single M.2 drive. After formatting in W10, I went straight to installing all the goods from Game Pass. Solid performance and trusting it’ll last long as I decided to make minor upgrades to my system (2016) than do a new build.

> 3 dayI get read 2449 Mb/s - write 1811 Mb/s---tested many times on Crystal Disk Mark 7.0 ---almost same result every time. I have NVME in two other laptops and (no lie) I was shocked at the speeds I am getting. 60% faster. I installed this in a Dell refurbished 15.6 Inspiron model 3793 that was very slow. Came with Intel Core 10th Generation i3-1005G1 Processor and 4GB memory and 1TB hard drive. So added 16GB more mem and this 500GB NVME Blue from Western Digital. NOW laptop is very fast. Boots in 10 seconds too. Now I have a great looking laptop. It comes in all black, Love that all black color. NOW it is super fast and overloaded with RAM. The original 1TB 5400RPM drive is now for storage. BOOTING now of course from this WD NVME drive THANKS! Western Digital!

Greater than one weekAfter testing the M.2 SSD WD Blue SN550 with PCIe Gen3.0 x4 interface, we were convinced of the superiority of the NVMe protocol over SATA. If you need fast loading of games, content creation and processing programs, this SSD is for you. Took a long time to boot up your old PC or laptop? Make a small upgrade and forget about the problem. If 500GB doesnt seem like enough for you, theres a 1TB model in the current lineup. Good luck! Gg wp
