> 3 dayThese bearings are not the greatest. I purchased them for use as a piece of a filament dispenser for a 3D printer. Basically, snap into place and spin. Thats all they had to do. The bearings felt oily yet werent actually very well lubricated inside at all. They also smell noxious, as contrasted with the ones I ended up buying after these, which spin immaculately and have only a subtle and inoffensive scent. Soaking these bad boys in Mineral Spirits did not help. The inside diameter is also wrong. Its like half a millimeter too large. This might be fine if all youre doing is making mediocre fidget spinners, but for use in an application where you expect to pop these onto something, they will be loose. Worth it to spend the same price for half the number of bearings from a decent seller, especially if you only need a few.

Greater than one weekNo nylon cage contrary to description. Metal cage. Non removable type.. Seals (shields?) are black, not red (not that it matters that much) but made of thin, flimsy plastic material. All the bearing shields Ive seen have been made of some type of thin metal alloy material, with a rubberized coating on one side. Not these. These flex a lot and dont seem too precise a fit, compared to the other type. The bearings had kind of a scraping quality to them, not smooth or particularly quiet. I had heard that its better to buy cheap bearings because the ABEC rating doesnt matter all that much unless its a very, very high RPM application youre using them for and that if you go for a higher ABEC rating, youre just wasting your money.. But I suspect theres something going on with these bearings that doesnt have to do with the ABEC rating at all. Not sure what it is. But maybe the moral of the story is that you just cant get 100 good quality bearings for $20? Perhaps. * Since originally posting this, Ive come to the conclusion that the problem lies with the metal cages that hold the individual ball bearings in these bearings. Because everything else about them, with the exception of the flimsy black plastic shields that probably arent really contributing to any problems (despite being flimsy) ...everything else about these bearings seems to be fairly similar in quality to other similar bearings that Ive had EXCEPT for these metal cages. They just seem to be made of a very thin metal and also seem quite flimsy and not precise.. and they are important. In fact I noticed that one of the individual ball bearings in one of these cages wasnt even centered properly in its little cup. So I think this is the problem. Which is why they scrape and do not roll smoothly in my opinion

> 3 dayThese are excellent 608 bearings for NON-SKATE use such as bearings for 3D printer parts. You can get rid of grease within seconds by simply dipping in some lighter fluid. They work fine after or you can add a little bearing oil. Also the sleeves are junk, just use without. These bearings would be good for applications that dont deal with dirt such as actual skateboarding. They are perfect for other uses.

> 3 dayThese are nowhere near quality bearings, but they are great for makers who use bearings in their projects and need the quantity without breaking the bank.

> 3 dayGreat value but ya... maybe 10-15% of them are defective. But with some clean up and tlc you get a bunch of bearings for cheap

Greater than one weekI rarely leave negative reviews, but this was an incredibly poor quality product. I should have realized that a 100 pack of skateboard bearings would not deliver the best quality or consistency, but I bought this without better judgement. I sheared my first 2 bearings in the first week. I shredded a couple more before I finally vowed to not use these again. I suppose these cheap quality bearings could be used in a pinch, but they are slower (more friction) than good bearings, and will break WAYYY quicker than any quality materials. You will get good at riding without functional bearings if you try to use these very long.

Greater than one weekWayneChicago wrote an excellent review. You should read that before reading mine. He outlines is perfect detail all the reasons why people buying these are complaining. Only he says it with tact and finesse. But I dont have that. So if you want a more direct rebuttal to the absolute nonsense youll read in the product review section about these being akin to sand-filled garbage, then keep reading. However, If sciency words are just flowery nerdspeak to you and breaks your brain, then just sop reading now and go buy the grossly overpriced BONES bearings. They make the cool whizzing sound on first rip out of the box. Plus theyre all shiny and you cant put a price on shiny, can you? Now....If youre not a mental tree stump and words with more than 3 syllables dont frighten you, then by all means, continue on! General Complaint: These are covered in some kind of oil and dont spin. Rebuttal: That is CORRECT! The insides are packed with grease which is thick. Think cooled bacon grease. When you reheat cooled bacon grease, what happens to it? It thins out and becomes more viscous, right?? Same thing applies here. These are packed with grease because theyre designed to be run in machines for long periods of time. Which means heat from rotational friction, which means the grease viscosity inside the bearing thins due to thermal conduction. This is WHY they were built the way they come in the box. So you can use them in machine type applications right out of the box, where thermal friction needs to be considered. Ok, but can I still use them for skateboard or roller skate wheels though? YES, you can but you need to do a little work first. No big deal if youre not lazy. If you want these bearings to spin like a fidget spinner and go whizzzzzzz, you have to dissolve the grease inside the bearings and use a thinner lubricating agent in its place. WayneChicago goes over how to do just that in his review. So I dont have to. Thanks, Wayne! *fistbump* And if you cant find WayneChicagos review, dont act like you dont have Google. Just look up How to dissolve grease in ball bearings. This isnt rocket science... As far as I can tell, the outside grease feel is just machining oil which is often times applied to metal surfaces as a water repellant to keep the surfaces from rusting due to atmospheric conditions. Wood workers and machine shop operators know exactly what Im talking about. Probably some mechanics too. Why would they do that? Well...where are these things made? Is there any water that might get into the bearings in transit from the factory to your house? Yeah, there is. Theres literally an ocean of it. Highly corrosive salt water to boot. So, in order to make sure these dont arrive as little jammed up rust cakes at your doorstep courtesy of the Amazon delivery guy, they coat them in a light oil or maybe even some of the inner grease to prevent that from happening. Youre WELCOME!! Its a prophylactic measure against people who dont know better. And also so people dont buy these and end up in their review section complaining about that too. Like so many other people are out here doing. The people complaining simply dont know what they dont know. And are trashing a decent product for the price from a company that is CLEARLY putting in an honest effort to deliver value to the consumer for a VERY REASONABLE PRICE. Some of these might have manufacturing defects, Some might last longer than others. When I bought mine they were under $0.30 each. Im not putting mine under heavy load for long durations anyways, and Ill have PLENTY of replacements should some of them give out, as they sometimes do. I have not tested them yet but I dont need to to know that I DID NOT get screwed on the transaction. This is EXACTLY what I expected and Im sure will exceed my expectations in performance. Sure, you get what you pay for. But if you know what you need to know before making a purchase, youll find INCREDIBLE value in these bearings given youre buying them for the right application. If you find yourself with a chapped ass complaining about this product because you didnt know what you needed to know before making the purchase, chances are you also didnt take my advice and spring for the BONES. And thats on you, playa... -5 Stars.

> 3 dayI am making a project that needs 12 bearings. I got 100 for the same price of the twelve. At that price I just have to think up more projects.

> 3 dayOK, just OK. You get your moneys worth, but dont expect too much when you are paying about 25 cents per bearing. They arrive in industrial dirty condition, so you need to wipe them down with some WD-40 before use. Check them individually, I had one bearing missing a seal, and one bearing that was just useless. Several are grindy enough that I will use them only if necessary. The seals are good if you will be using these bearings in a dirty environment, such as shaping wood with a CNC. But the seals alo add friction, since they tend to rub against the inside of the bearings. If you are using just a few bearings, I would get better quality over quantity.
