> 3 dayThese are excellent 608 bearings for NON-SKATE use such as bearings for 3D printer parts. You can get rid of grease within seconds by simply dipping in some lighter fluid. They work fine after or you can add a little bearing oil. Also the sleeves are junk, just use without. These bearings would be good for applications that dont deal with dirt such as actual skateboarding. They are perfect for other uses.

> 3 dayAs others have stated these are covered in grease. Its a basic coating that most bearings you order come with and was not a big deal. The bearings come in these plasic tube holders and all i did was fill it up with rubbing alcohol (best i had) and shook it then used a paper towel to clean them off. So far out of the 2 tubes ive done that to and tested, ive only had 2 hard to move bearings. It was clear this was due to the plastic cover not fitting well and not a problem with the bearing itself. If you have the time to clean them or were planning on using the bearings in a more mechanically heavy application and will grease them yourself then these are perfect. Very cheap and so far average quality. The grease smell is just a normal one i dont know why some people were overreacting. Im building mechanical joints for a raspberry pi project and these are exactly what i needed to ensure everything moves properly. I may clean them and mix in graphite powder with more grease to use them as sliprings since damage is not a concern for the sheer plethora i now have.

09-06-2025So I opened the a contaner, each one has a set of ten. First thing I noticed is the seals looked odd. So I pop one out, they are plastic, not rubber of any kind. Thereis very very little grease inside, could be a good thing or bad depending on your use. My intened use is for a bearing to last so I need grease inside. So I check 10 more same thing. That takes me to the biggest problem. These called seals you can see the balls inside with the seals in place from the factory. No way will they seal in the grease or keep dirt out.
