Just tapped out a couple M8 size holes where i broke a couple bolts on my Toyota. Worked like new by the end of the second bolt.

I bought this kit to chase some threads in the lawn tractor engine we are working on. The actual bit was plenty sharp, and ended up working well. However, the handle that hold the bit did not clamp down on the bit itself. It would slip unless I use pliers to sock it down. I will be buying a better handle as the bits look good and the case is well laid out.

The first tap I used broke. The first die I used was able to cut about three inches of threads and it was junk. This is low quality chinesium metal. Unless you are doing only aluminum or other really soft materials you shouldn’t buy these! I was cutting stainless.

The tap and die set is nice but it doesnt look like it would be considered a professional set. The package has two separate plastic trays for the taps and the dies. Always make sure to replace the clear plastic tray covers over the tools before you tip the tool case on edge otherwise all of the individual pieces will fall out and get mixed up.

If you are looking for a cheap tap set then it is for you otherwise don’t but this because it is cheaply made. The small tap handle was unable to hold the tap pin. I need to use an adjustable wrench to turn it. Aside from this, the plastic box is to thin and was unable to hold the tools inside. They are all flying out of space.

Huge set of taps and dies. You will have a tap and die for every occasion! The case is nice too.

Worked great and seems well built! Great price for a comprehensive set! Tapped several holes and used plenty of cutting oil... no visible wear to the taps at all!

So I have taps and dies, but SAE. I needed some metric taps for an Aisin AX15 to chase some threads (and other items that might be metric on a CJ7). It arrived at my house sooner than anticipated, and I pulled it right out of the box, and did what I needed to. The 8x1.25mm tap worked to chase some threads that were damaged, and I cleaned the bolts with the die. All said and done, Im happy with my purchase.
