I have never owned a tap and die set. I bought this one because of price and mostly good reviews. I only needed to cut sixteen 3/8 inch taps in quarter inch steel strap but thought for the price just get the whole set. I tapped all 16 holes and never noticed any change in the sharpness of the bit. I would say it is worth it and good quality for the money.

This isnt going to suffice if you use them everyday. I had a project that needed tapping, so i got this kit and it worked great. The only drawback was my t-handle spring mechanism gave out, so the little crossbar slides out. Thats why I dropped it a star. Perhaps the seller can make this right and ill bump it up to 5. Prior to this project i had only limited experience tapping, but was able to get the job done with this kit. As mentioned in others reviews, keep the foam in the case to keep your pieces from rattling around.

This has saves me many times from stripped threads. A bit low quality, but gets the job done.

Didnt like much because you cant use it for bigger bolts and nuts. It has so many sizes but theyre all for smaller bolts and nuts. Thinking of returning it and ordering a different one.

Im a retired Quality Engineer and have wanted a set like this for decades. This kit has proved to be one of my wisest invests and Im so happy w the tap And thread making jobs ive done This is NOT a cheap set by no means and the value is enormous vs price. I am very pleased w this set and recommend it highly to any DIY garage/home work shop.
