> 3 dayThis computer seemed a good choice. It was a christmas present for my kids. But after just a little more than six months of use, the computer wont even turn on!!!!

Greater than one weekI had this laptop for close to 8 months and I barely used it. The laptop will now not even boot into the bios. I wouldnt recommend because, this was seriously rarely used and now will not boot up but, just shows power lights and a black screen, cannot work around with a monitor either so I am very sure it is a full bios failure.

> 3 dayIts fast, screen is pretty sketchy. Dull finish and low brightness. Not good for any game. 1080p is sad. You would think with new tech that older screens would be pretty at least. Im not complaining about the resolution, just the overall quality of the screen. Ghosting, dull colors, just looks like 90s tech. Otherwise the cpu is decent and the drive is fast. It performs well considering it doesnt have a video card.

> 3 dayArrow keys seem to engage at random times. Tried troubleshooting reinstalling drivers, but seems to be hardware issue. Also no easy way to just disable the keyboard and use an external one, so this has render the device unusable

> 3 dayI use this for both video editing and software development. Using VLC it can play three HD videos at once with no issues, only using about 1/2 the CPU power. Exporting edited videos with VideoPad (the free editor) takes about as long as my 5th gen i7 system did - I was hoping for faster, but its not bad.

> 3 dayI am not a computer guy, so you can take what I have to say with a grain of salt. Im an academic and Ive been using an 11 inch macbook for years for my classes and research. I like it because its light and easy to transport around. However, that means that its not a great device to watch streaming movies and TV on. I had an Acer Netbook in the past and really liked it, so I thought Id give this larger Acer a try. As mentioned above, I use this primarily for watching video. In fact, I left for a research trip shortly after it arrived and took it along for that purpose. Im glad I did. Streaming video looks great and the sound is pretty good, though perhaps not great. This is a great device for watching video on the go, and I would highly recommend it for that purpose. I only wish it had a DVD/Blu-Ray drive. Thats a minor complaint, however.

09-06-2025I purchased this Acer laptop because it has an i5 processor, m.2 SSD, 1080 display, backlit keyboard, RJ-45 port, and weighs about 4 lbs. I plan on using this laptop for travel and for work. Its got everything I was looking for at an affordable price. The reviews on tech websites are very good.
