Ive had very hit or miss luck with laptops, regardless of the hardware specs. I can finally confidently replace the old desktop with this one. Performing great and a great price. Im not a hardcore gamer or anything, but its probably good for a casual gamer like myself, and Ive done video editing with no problem as well.

There are many things to love about this laptop, like:

Ive learned to trust Acer brand. My Acer PC is still working great and the Acer laptop that Ive replaced with the Acer Swift, still works fine. Its just way out of date.

Love the speed and sleekness of the machine. After 4 months, the wireless adapter went caput. Completely unrecognizable in the laptop and thus no WiFi. Apparently, its a more than common issue.

Performance is good, battery can last ~4hr only on gentle internet visiting.

Visually it’s a Beautiful laptop. The screen’s height was smaller that I thought, but once the laptop screen is on it doesn’t seem as small. I like the resolution, not the best but it’s still great. I like the matte screen, it reduces the glare from the sunlight. The camera is actually good for its price, I’ve had to do a zoom class once and the image was actually good and clear, better than I expected.

I wanted a windows machine with discrete graphics and a quality display for photo and video work but I didnt want some 15.6-17 behemoth, nor could I really afford a Razer or some other $2000 ultra portable. After exhaustive research and comparisons over a couple of months I decided the swift x was exactly at the price/performance intersection for me. Its a little thicker and heavier than I prefer for travel but given the massive performance it has over my old Yoga laptop I consider it a reasonable trade. The 16:10 display is not my preferred aspect ratio for lightroom and photoshop but I use a calibrated 4k external monitor for serious work sessions. The built in display has great gamut and color space specs and sharp details for a 1080 panel. Battery life is excellent if youre not flogging it. The fan ran an obnoxious amount out of the box, even at idle but a quick Google showed it was a known issue and a quick settings change quieted things right down. I havent done much video work on it yet but I have some upcoming projects that will put the GPU to the test. It rips through lightroom and photoshop tasks with ease. It nips at the heels of my friends top of the line Razer at a fraction of the price, and thats an Intel machine. If we got into multicore video work I would probably edge him out.

As a student I wanted a laptop that would be phenomenal for both school as well as the occasional gaming (FPS title such as Valorant, Overwatch) and this laptop proved to live up to my expectations. However, I will say that I highly recommend you get an external monitor to use alongside this laptop as it will greatly enhance your experience. The laptop is very powerful for the specs that it has, and the battery life is very decent--often lasting me an entire day. However, my one complain is that the screen quality is not as outstanding. The brightness nits is very subpar so in bright settings I find myself struggling to see what is on the screen (even with max brightness turned all the way up).

The Acer Swift X is lightweight with well more than satisfactory graphical power. Excellent for students who want to do school assignments and games on the side. You really wont find a better price for what you get in a laptop. Only advise id give is to maybe wait for the new Swift X laptops to roll out since they have a better display and more graphical power. But in all honesty, even with the new laptops out this acer swift x is a very very good laptop to buy.

The product is multiple voltage compatible, that voltage arrange is 100-240V.
