If you have a mix of needs that range from one core to tons of cores then this processor is an especially good fit because of the high boost frequency for a few cores and the large number of cores. For example gaming (which uses relatively few cores) and 3D rendering (which uses all the cores). Im very happy with both the gaming and 3D rendering performance. If gaming is your main priority then the products with fewer cores like the 5600X are just as good for that purpose and a lot cheaper.

This CPU is awesome even with all the Alder Lake competition. Benched on Passmark at 47306.2 coupled with DDR4 at 3600mhz and a AIO cooler. My primary use is gaming but got the horsepower to last years and work tasks when needed.

I was excited to get this in and complete my build. Upon opening the package I gave it the once over and discovered one or more bent or broken pins. I almost didnt catch it, the pins are small and there is a lot of them. Ive built many computers and servers over the years and only had a problem with a processor once before this, it was the other brand and the problem was internal and since it was an OEM processor I was left holding the bag. Not sure how to pursue this... one more headache to deal with. If you get one, check closely before attempting to use.

Better all-core clocks than my 3950Xs. Better IPC. Better math performance. Runs hotter than the 3950X at the same loading. Very satisfied. Only my Epyc cpus are better bang for the buck.

This is great for gaming! You will love this I have had no limits since I purchased this. It was an easy instal and have had no trouble with it. I wasn’t an early adopter so probably they had fixed most of the problems before I bought mine. You will love this.

This CPU is really fast - fastest available right now. It is nice to have 16 actual computing cores as more and more applications are taking advantage of multiple cores. Power consumption is quite low, about 150W at maximum load. And CPU temps never go above 70C (with 25C ambient) even under full stress load with water cooling (ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280). Since there is very little heat to dissipate the fans are barely spinning and PC stays cool and quiet. This is my first AMD build in 20 years - and I could not be happier. This is a true Next Generation CPU, which makes PC exciting again.

Bought this at $799 tow weeks ago. It never go above 3.8 GHZ multicore on stock setting. With PBO at 4.1Ghz multicore. 25000 score on cinebench r23 about the same as my 3950x score. I think i got a bad chip. No wonder why they sold it cheap at $799. Going to return it.
