> 3 dayI decided to max out my Socket AM4 workstation (mostly for JavaScript work on Linux) now that prices are dropping rather than wait for the first generation of AM5 hardware to come out.

> 3 dayI love AMDs Ryzen 9 5950X. Unfortunately, Amazon has mislabeled the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G as the Ryzen 9 5950X. Maybe people wont notice? Thanks Amazon!

> 3 dayI am a Motion Graphics Designer and a an offline editor and I built my own super computer using this amazing processor. Ive been using Avid, Premiere, and Resolve for different jobs and they are performing very well! After Effects and C4D are amazing on this thing but make sure you have 64GB minimum no matter what the requirements say.

09-06-2025Make sure you order pc parts individually or else you wont get any protective foam or air pouches. Its not like electronics/ computer parts can be easily damaged. Will update review accordingly if damaged during shipping.

> 3 dayI got a very good deal with credits saved to splurge on this processor & I am thoroughly impressed. Going from a 2700x to this has been a night & day experience. I tend to have several browser tabs open while doing other things like running TOS or watching YTube vids, photoshop, etc & this processor never skips a beat. Probably overkill but I enjoy it tremendously. Have 32Gb of ram (3200) & 1tb pcie 4 nvme & a 5700xt.

> 3 dayI upgraded from a 7700K. The last of intel’s “we have no competition, therefore we are going to remain complacent” processors. I bought this after the launch of the 5800X3D and chose it, because I have a GPU bottleneck and could probably use the extra cores going into the future. The 12900K absolutely has better single core performance, but the two things that made me choose 5950X, the fact that I fell victim to intel’s complacency. Second, the longevity and performance gains of the AM4 socket from Ryzen 1XXX to Ryzen 5XXX. I’m running this alongside a 3080Ti in a meshlicious package and I couldn’t be happier.
