ASUS DRW-24F1ST - DVD SATA SUPERMULTI Burner - SERIAL ATA - BLACK - OEM Bulk Drive

I wish the drive came with some accessories to install it. I was disappointed. This doesnt fit the Deepcool Kendomen case because the fans are in the way for the DVD drive to fit. I was saddened. So, I donated this to my school.

Quality was not as good as I expected from a product labelled with “Asus”, but then you get what you pay for. It works flawlessly and was easy to install.

I hope this short review helps in your shopping. I always depend or reviews for my decisions. I needed a custom built computer with a clean Windows install. My son is an IT person and said we could put one together in half an hour. So I ordered all the components and that is what we did...in about half an hour. This was the DVD reader/writer I bought. It seems to be as advertised. I have always had good success with ASUS. I have not burned many dvds yet but the reading and writing have both met my expectations. I would definitely buy it again.

Drive worked perfectly, no software to install. This drive was 1/5 the cost of the Hewlett Packard drive !. I have both, the original that came with the computer and this one. There is absolutely no different in performance. Make sure you order the CORRECT drive model for your specific HP computer

Standard OEM item. Was properly packaged, their is no additional software (writer,utilities, etc.) but that is to be expected. I did find it curious that there were no screws but I just reused what was there. Seemed odd though.

What could have been an easy replacement of a faulty disc drive turned into a scavenger hunt for screws from my dads hodgepodge screw cabinet. Beware. Other than that, it works just fine. Ive had mine for about three months now, and Ive had no problems. The faulty drive was from someone else.

Drive arrived as advertised and quickly. Installation went without glitch. Ive only used it a couple of times, but the drive seems to perform fine. Couldnt ask for more.

Ive used 5 of these so far in new PC builds for work in the past 2 years. They are simple, reliable and consistent optical drives - no problems at all.
