> 3 dayBought this new house with tons of carpet 2 months ago. Vacuumed the whole house with my Dyson then had professional carpet cleaning come. Master bedroom and office had strange smell that wouldn’t go away. I received this Bissell 3 days ago. I cleaned every room twice using the deep clean option and the smell is finally gone!! Had some weird pet hair come out, which I didn’t even know it was there (probably previous owners pet). This machine is better than Dyson, which is an expensive vacuum. I’m extremely impress and can finally breathe in my room. Highly recommend.

Greater than one weekFirstly, for context I just got this carpet cleaner today and used it for ~3 hours. If I have any issues with it in the future I’ll update. Right now, I’m super happy! I was in the market for a carpet cleaner to clean our nasty rental carpets and to have on hand for pet messes. I poured over the reviews for all the sub-$130 machines on Amazon and this one seemed to have the most positive ones. The machine is very easy to put together and use. You snap the handle together, snap in the dirty water tank, fill and snap in the clean water tank, and you’re ready to start cleaning. If you’re looking for something to clean smaller areas, like rugs or pet accidents, this machine is ideal. I have a small-ish apartment and using it over my whole living room was time consuming and took a LOT of water changes (especially because the carpet was gross), but doable. If I had a large house worth of carpet I would’ve wanted a bigger machine. But for my situation I’m okay with spending more time for less money. If you’re willing to spend more to save time and/or you’re wanting to cover a large area, look elsewhere. Pros: * Very lightweight and compact. * Easy to assemble and use. * Good suction. Cleaned out old stains in my carpet with just a few passes. It pulls most of the water out so your carpets get cleaner and you’re not left with soaking wet floors. * Separate tanks for dirty and clean water. Dirty tank is much bigger so there’s room for suds. Cons: * Small tanks. You run out of clean water and/or need to empty very frequently. It took me about 30 mins to do one pass of a 10x10 foot area, for which I needed to empty the tanks probably 3-4 times. * Small width, so it doesn’t cover very much surface area with each pass of the machine. This also means you spend more time to cover the same area. * The brush is cylindrical and spins like a regular vacuum brush. I was actually surprised at how much staining it got out, but for very dirty or ground in stains you would probably need to pre treat and scrub by hand to loosen them up before using this machine. * No attachments, like you’d use to clean furniture or car seats. Tips for using: * Vacuum VERY WELL with a regular vacuum before using this machine. If you have pets and fluffier carpet, I recommend getting some type of carpet brush to pick up embedded fur. * To use this you fill the clean water tank with hot water plus whatever cleaner you want to use (there is a mark on the water tank for each), then hold down the trigger in the handle to dispense the clean water and let go to suck it back up. * The directions recommend going forward and back with the trigger held, then forward and back with it released. I recommend going forward/back with the trigger held once, then repeat without it held until the carpet feels reasonably dry. The reviews that complained of sopping wet carpets were probably either holding the trigger down for too many passes, or not going back over enough times to suck up water. * GO SLOWLY. Especially as you are pulling the machine back toward yourself. If you go too fast it won’t have enough time to suck water back up. * Use hot water. The directions say 60C/140F. I used very hot tap water. * A little soap goes a long way. IMO just a splash of soap is enough, this was enough to pull up a lot of foam (and dirt) out of my carpets. Just plain water will pull out dirt too. * Do a pass with soap over the whole room, then go back with only water in the tank to get the soap back out. Repeat till water runs clear. * Some reviews complained that the dirty tank leaked. It won’t if you pull it straight up and out of the cleaner and then hold it upright until you empty it. If you turn it upside down then flip back upright it will leak a little out the bottom. Also, make sure that it’s properly attached when you click it back in. * If your carpets are really gnarly like mine, expect to spend a lot of time on them (maybe even a multi-day project as you complete individual rooms). I did 4 passes over the room and was still getting dirty water coming up. If I used an industrial strength machine I probably could’ve done less passes, but I’m willing to spend more time since I saved some money buying this machine. Overall, I think this is a really good purchase IF you know what to expect. Is this a professional level machine with tons of power and a huge water tank? Definitely not. Can you get a professional level clean with this? Maybe, but it’s going to take quite a while. If you want to save yourself some money but have the time to spend, and not a huge amount of area to cover, this little machine is a good option. Carpet cleaner rental near me is $60 a pop, not including attachments or soap. I was willing to spend a little more to just buy this even though I knew it would probably take me longer, the convenience of being able to use it whenever I want is worth it to me.

> 3 dayI went from living in a house covered in hardwood floors to a much larger house covered in carpet. We have 2 dogs and a toddler and really needed something to help keep the carpet clean and stain free. We’ve had a few dog accidents (new home probably caused this) and our two year old spilled a red drink on the floor. Neither of these were a challenge for this cleaner. And when I say I am SHOCKED at the amount of dog hair this thing picked up, I mean it! Pretty embarrassed actually, but glad to have something to help!

> 3 dayBefore I bought the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Carpet Cleaner, 2987,Green/ Black, I was a normal person. A normal person with a dark secret. You see, my carpets were always dirty. For some reason, stains took to my carpets like moths to a flame, college students to a bar, women to broken men…you get the idea. Stains and my carpet were intertwined, inseparable, and indissoluble. I spent hours strategizing how to clean these carpets. A normal vacuum would inevitably give up, choking on the mess of cat hair, litter, and who knows what else. I spent hours contemplating what to do. Some days I would take a broom and brush all the gunk off. I bought every pet stain remover and deodorizer the grocery store had to offer. More often than not, I was left with an immovable stain outlined by white residue–which would in turn become part of the landscape of my carpet. I was despondent. Nothing was working. I was doomed to my perennial fear: a house that smelled like “cat”. You know the smell. I could feel it clinging to my clothes. God forbid I ever drop an article of clothing on the floor. I feared dropping food on the floor, knowing that it would render the food unfit for human consumption. I bought a Bissell vacuum a while back, and while it cleaned my carpet of the top layer of filth, I knew I needed something that would reach deeper. Something that would claw its way to the depths of my carpets and purify them of every morsel of dirt to ever sully them. Then, the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Carpet Cleaner, 2987,Green/ Black appeared in my suggested purchases feed. Readers, that was when everything changed. I stared at the screen and thought to myself: my life as I know it is about to be upheaved. Ecstatic, I placed the order for the Bissell and the pet stain and odor removing fluid. A few fateful days later, and I had the package in hand. The setup was simple, even for a person like me, who once cooked spaghetti wrong. The instructions, with clear visual guides, resulted in something beautiful: a Bissell. But there was still work to be done. Determined, I filled the clean water tank with appropriately hot water and the correct proportion of fluid. I plugged the Bissell in and took a deep breath. This was the moment of truth. I pressed down on the scarlet on button and was greeted with a resonant “vroom”. I pressed the nozzle and swiped back and forth. And then I did it again. I could see the dirty water piling up with each swipe, frothing in the bottom of the Bissell. Frenzied, I cleaned one room after another, marveling at the murky color of the water. When I finished, I looked around and felt my soul lift up. My carpets were finally clean. An easy, affordable carpet cleaning machine that gets the job done. I would recommend this to my friends, family, strangers on the street, and even my enemies. Because no one should have dirty carpets. My wedding vows will not be “I do”, but rather “I Bissell”.

Greater than one weekI was skeptical about a small carpet cleaner such as this. Totally changed my tune once I used it. I live in an apartment but this was perfect. I had to do small areas, let dry, move furniture and repeat. This sucks a ton of water back out, so drying time was minimal. I completed my entire two bedroom apartment in one day. Yes, you have to refill the cleaning solution/water thank several times, as well as dump the waste tank. But that worked fine for me. The disgusting gunk this got out of my carpet was horrifying and amazing. Carpet looks like new again!

> 3 dayY’all I was shocked, shooketh, surprised at the power of this thing. Please don’t judge me, my carpets were absolutely disgusting. This carpet cleaner cut through 8 years of stains and pet potty accidents on the worlds best example of a landlord special. I seriously thought there was no hope for this carpet and it was honestly a huge deterrent from having guests. I also had an elderly little dog who had bladder troubles and would often miss the potty pads and go straight on the carpet. Bless his precious soul, he left a lot of foul smells. Foul smells and stains that this carpet cleaning cut right through. You guys I’m honestly shocked at how well this performed. The only thing I would make note of is spend the extra $60 and buy the deluxe version. It comes with the attachments for smaller spaces. The basic one I bought does not have that ability. Still great though!!

14-06-2025Our family moved into this house in 2000, and I doubt the carpet had ever been cleaned before I bought this carpet cleaner this year. I am beyond impressed with this carpet cleaner. There were cat poo stains that had been in the corner for years, and most recently my sibling had a bunny that roamed free in the room. This carpet cleaner machine got up all the stains! The photo I attached is what the carpet looked like after I finished using the machine. The area around the perimeter of the room looks and feels like brand new carpet. You can’t tell from the photo but the center of the carpet still has some discoloration. I feel like that’s normal for a high traffic area that hadn’t been regularly maintained. My only dislike is that the bottom tank has to be emptied so often. But at this price point I can’t really complain. This carpet cleaner is worth every penny.

Greater than one weekYou will also want: + Large Floor Fan + Dehumidifier + Air Purifier My Situation: I live in an apartment that is mostly carpet. I have lived at this apartment going on 3 years now and have only vacuumed before. I have two cats and two dogs, one of which is elderly and the other is a puppy. My Review: The instructions werent very good for someone who has never used a carpet cleaner before, though I did appreciate the diagrams regarding how to take it apart and clean it. As far as the actual cleaning, it does seem to work really well, but I can confirm the numerous reviews that it takes many hours for even half of a normal sized room. It is also rather annoying how often you have to dump out the dirty water and add fresh, it really wears your back out bending over a ton and then walking with the machine for hours. For someone who hadnt had their carpet cleaned in years, it took me over 4 hours just to do a 6x6 foot section of my bedroom and I was still pulling up dirty water - be sure to set aside 8 or so hours if your situation is similar to mine and youre attempting a reasonable sized section at once. I will acknowledge that, for the price of this one vs the many others out there, it does its job if youre willing to put in the time and effort. Additional Tips: + Wear Earbuds/Headphones, the carpet cleaner is loud like a normal vacuum, so just leaving a TV on or something isnt good enough. + Wear a Mask if Chemical Smells bother you. Though the Bissell Pet Pro with Febreze smells better than just the Pet Stain and Odor one, both are really strong and gave me massive headaches. + Keep a window open. Even if the Chemical Smell doesnt bother you it really helps to have fresh air during the cleaning and after.
