Corel Painter Essentials 5 Digital Art Suite for PC and Mac (Old Version)

It was incompatible with my PC. Like the concept, wished it had worked.

If you are looking for a software for pictures and art work Painter essentials from corel is your program. Not only can you do pictures but artists can draw and paint with this program. For 30$ it is worth every penny to have two programs in one.

This would be a good product to entertain the kids with. Anything above that Ill stick to Photoshop and Krita. Krita is free and Ive been using it for painterly style projects without any issues on a Win10 PC for well over a year now. My personal (Artist) opinion, Krita is a far better product hands down. Many free brushes to download as well.

First off, it is important to know that I am a complete amateur when it comes to photo editing or drawing software. I know just enough to get by in Adobe Photoshop and have bumbled around in other painting programs over the years. So this is a review coming from someone who isnt skilled or fluent in these types of software.

All the great features of Painter at a much lower cost. I love the things I can do in Painter that arent easily possible in other graphic/imaging software, and sometimes use it alone, and sometimes in conjunction with other programs. Essentials has all the features I need and not the ones I dont need.

I loved using it. However, after a computer problem I was unable to reinstall Painter Essentials 5. Tried a million different things including

I have really enjoyed this program. I am a professional photographer that is used to doing all photo painting like this manually in Photoshop. So, I wondered if would even like this. I definitely like it! It is really an easy program to use and offers many brushes. I have been using it on a Wacom Cintique 21ux and it is fantastic. There were a lot of great effects that were easy to apply. It was extremely easy to learn and I don’t think you would need to be photo editing savvy in order to use it. I would highly recommend. It makes me want to purchase the more feature robust 2015 version. I love that this product is now available for a Mac. For the longest time it was only PC-based. So, this was a huge plus for me!

Does what It says it can do. It works with Win 7. I was missing the scan photo feature in building backgrounds for illustrations that every later version of Corel Draw, Painter and Essentials lacks. This has sped up my illustration creation ability to also match my art style, instead of looking like the same f stop throughout the photograph, background.
