CTEK (56-304) Comfort Connect Extension Cable, 8.2 Feet

I own 2 of these cables. Neither one works right. I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger that I use to maintain my 2 AGM car batteries. In fact, I like the charger so much I bought a second one. I dont know if its the connectors or the cable itself, but when its used with this charger, the charger will get stuck in DESULFATION mode at the beginning of the program and take nearly forever to progress, if at all. Maybe theres some resistance or a bad connector faking out the chargers voltage sensing, but I just cant use this cable with it. Ive tried snugging up the connectors and using an anti-ox compound to help with resistance, but no luck. I dont recommend anyone purchase this item if you use a CTEK MXS 5.0 at least. I just hook it up straight to the comfort pigtails that are installed on both my auto batteries with no issues, so theres something wrong with this particular extension cable.

Its an extension cord, does its job

Batteries die in the cold and rainy weather, my old charger had 3 foot leads and a 6 foot AC cord that required me to try to waterproof the cord and charger during use. This extension cable allows me to place the charger in the garage and charge the batteries while the cars are in the driveway. Perfect solution and addition to a great battery charger

Wanted to get the wiring for my CTEK 3300 cleaned up and reclaim a 50 heavy duty extension cord Id been using on the AC side of the battery maintainer, so I pulled the trigger on this Comfort Connect (aka 12V/cigarette lighter) extension cable. As always, it arrived in two days thanks to Prime. What can I say? Its an extension cable and it works like a champ. If youre currently using the Comfort Connect adapter for your CTEK maintainer and need an extension cable, this is the item for you.

I dislike how stiff it is but looks like a good quality, I use it as my trickle charging on my Lexus IS 300 Hybrid and it is thin enough that I can CLOSE the trunk on the cable without any damage to the seal.

I wish the listing would have noted that the quick connect part of the charging was included AND how long it was. There was only mention of the cable that temporarily clamps to the battery posts, which in most instances I would only need to use on rare occasions. The included quick connect with the charger is plenty long enough and this was not really needed. Having said that, it is nice to know that I can reach the quick connect on my motorcycle from just about anywhere in the garage and dont need to move the charger to different power outlets. It will also attach to the previously mentioned clamps as an extension, so if I want to clamp onto my 4x4 pickup truck battery I can easily reach it and connect to the charger so that I can place it and see the state of charging/reconditioning. Easily worth the nominal price for much added convenience.

Works for me flawlessly for about 4 to 5 months when it’s suddenly stopped working. After reading several other posts and questions on this product and see if like you have a certain type of mechanical grease you apply it to the metal ends, and the project will start working again flawlessly. If you don’t own mechanical grease, then that’s another added cost. They should’ve included a small tube of the mechanical grease with this product or the original product instead of getting mechanical grease for this product. I went ahead and got another type of extension cord for battery minders, that’s attached to my vehicle, which worked flawlessly for several years without meat of mechanical Greese. I will save this product in a drawer, hoping to get mechanical grease one day until then it will not work. Only way I would increase my rating from a two star to a five star would be if they do include some type of mechanical grease which is needed or put in bedded lettering. That should only be used indoors.

Perfect length for my trunk mounted battery

The product is perfect for keeping the battery on my 599 fully charged. Anyone who knows; you don’t want a dead battery on a 599. Easy to attach clips to battery for temporary use. But for long term use the hard wiring is easy to attach to the battery using a wrench. Then just plug it in and leave it alone. Very easy disconnects allows for driving without accessing the battery. I also bought the 8’ extension for extra length around the exhausts and I have the unit wall mounted using the mounting holes on the unit. I have my other Ferrari’s on theses units as well. I highly recommend them for use with the high energy draining modern Ferrari’s. Plus, they extend battery life significantly.
