11-06-2025The idea is great if the cable would keep working. It failed after minor use since purchased December 9 2020. I dont see anyway to get a replacement on my order page. Im not asking for a refund, Im asking for a warranty replacement for this extension cable. It will not work when used. The CTEK MXS 5.0 works fine when not connected to the extension cable otherwise it goes into a flashing green light which indicates no connection to the battery. Bad Extension Cable . I would give CTEK a good review if they would warranty their product but I see any way here on Amazon to get this cable replaced. Its only $12.00 but it should work longer than 2 months. Ben UPDATE CHANGED FROM 1 STAR TO 3: I added some CRC Technician Grade Dielectric Grease to the ends of the cable connections. It has been working fine now. Could it be that simple? Yes it could. I have used the CRC product many times on electronic connections with great success. Time will tell. Still a little disappointed that the cable failed in the first place. They need to review the end connectors and if necessary note the need for a dielectric grease if the cable fails. Back to one star. I know it has been a while but I really dont use this extension much. Over the past several months this product has been working on and off. It seems to have some sort of short or the connectors are becoming defective. I cant say this product is good.

> 3 dayWorks great. Clicks nicely and securely. It extends the battery connection to outside the trunk space so the charger can be more conveniently located. The cable did not affect how the charger senses the voltage or charges the battery. I highly recommend this product.

> 3 dayI own 2 of these cables. Neither one works right. I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger that I use to maintain my 2 AGM car batteries. In fact, I like the charger so much I bought a second one. I dont know if its the connectors or the cable itself, but when its used with this charger, the charger will get stuck in DESULFATION mode at the beginning of the program and take nearly forever to progress, if at all. Maybe theres some resistance or a bad connector faking out the chargers voltage sensing, but I just cant use this cable with it. Ive tried snugging up the connectors and using an anti-ox compound to help with resistance, but no luck. I dont recommend anyone purchase this item if you use a CTEK MXS 5.0 at least. I just hook it up straight to the comfort pigtails that are installed on both my auto batteries with no issues, so theres something wrong with this particular extension cable.

> 3 dayFor the few dollars, this ctek extension is very convenient. At an extra 8 feet, it may not avoid having to pull out an extension cord. But it avoided me having to balance the charger somewhere on the car (especially bigger cars), dragging a thicker home extension cord onto cars finish, and a little more choice for safe placement on the ground. Recommended!

14-06-2025Overall a completely solid productd, high quality manufacturing, and gives me the extra length I need, exactly as descxribed. That said it is pricy for what it is, and there arent any alternatives. However in the big picture it is a tiny cost compared to all the other things one buys for maintaining a classic sports car.

> 3 day***See update at end*** I have my CTEK battery tender on a shelf and use this extension to reach into my car, via a CTEK cigarette lighter adapter. About every other day I find the lights blinking indicating a poor connection. I have tracked down the problem to the coupling between the main unit and this cable. The clips fasten tightly, everything is clean and firm, yet when the fault occurs the slightest touch will restore connection, only to fail again sometime later. Its unknown what causes it to break connection as this runs through a completely undisturbed location in a very clean garage. The convenience of the extra length is great, but the reason for being is to maintain a battery and its not doing its job. Relying on this to keep your battery topped up will result in disappointment if its prone to random failure such as this. I cannot recommend it. UPDATE: I unclipped the Comfort Connect cable and very carefully applied a conductive paste (Ox-Gard) with a toothpick inside each of the two barrels of the female side of the connector, then reconnected. This has solved the problem and the connection is now stable, device working properly. Sloppy build quality but easy fix.

15-06-2025I bought these extensions to not only extended the cable, to eliminate wear and tare on the main connector on the Ctek unit itself
