Arrived loose in its case. The case is yellowed thin plastic. Hot wheels cars come un better packaging. This looks like its straight out of the 90s. Disappointed because I keep my bits in their cases when not in use. I will not be able to do that with this one. For the price I would expect it to arrive like every other Freud bit I have purchased in a nice hard plastic case that keeps it secure and make it easy to store.

    Another great Frued router bit.

Some of the paint on this bit was slightly uneven. There is a noticeable gloopy raised part on one side. This not a good sign generally, And if it werent a Freud bit I would be worried. However it seemed to cut just fine.

It broke within fifteen minutes. The screw connecting the bit to the bearing snapped.

This bit works pretty well, as long as you slowly work your way down to the desired cut depth.

… and yes the difference is noticeable. Particularly if you’re doing finishing jobs, then paying the extra for Feud is justifiable.

I used this bit in a full-size router to put a 30° slope on a custom shelf I was making. I chose this bit because of the reputation of the company that makes it, and it worked well for me.

VERY SHARP AND PRODUCED A SMOOTH CUT. WORKED AS I EXPECTED.

1-5/8" (Dia.) Chamfer Bit with 1/2" Shank

From the Manufacturer

Freud"s precision ground carbide bits have a grain size smaller than other grades, and titanium is added making them impervious to chemical attack. Promoting safer woodworking is the reason Freud made a commitment to develop anti-kickback router bits. Bits are computer balanced to insure vibration-free operation at speeds that are a safe margin above the typical 22,000 RPMs of most routers. Freud"s philosophy is woodworkers should expect safety, not pay for it. Carbide length 5/8-inch, angle 45-degrees, shank diameter 1/2-inch.
