Theres not much to say here ... the bit is beautiful and up to the standard one might expect from Freud. It was packaged well and shipped promptly from the seller, arriving quickly and as described. The bit has a sharp and very durable edge. I used the bit to put a chamfer on some 12 PVC pipe sections I was using to construct part of an environmental science research project, and the bit worked just fine in PVC without chipping, grabbing or any misbehaviour. By the way, doing this creates volumes of white plastic sawdust that would serve well as fake snow.

It is nice when good tools are available and never need return. I purchased it for a specific project and the bit cut a very smooth bevel.

Ive used this once and its better than most of the router bits Ive got. I would definitely but it again.

The bit is not large enough to chamfer a 3/4 thick board. It leaves a flat ridge at the bottom of the board. Other reviews said it was so Im disappointed that I wasted my money.

I purchased this bit to bevel the edge of a hardwood table top I was making. It cut the walnut easily and left a smooth finish. I have several Freud bits, they never let me down

Watch your finger tips when installing this router bit. It is razor sharp. Now that my finger tip has healed and made a few dozen passes cross grain on solid oak I have to give it a good review for performance as well.

AS FAR AS THIS ITEM I PURCHASED I bought it for future use to chamfer corners instead of using table saw. the router bit will do a more accurate better quality cut and I do not have to set my table saw at extremes if the cut is on a high corner. I rated the bit well becuz it was made by Freud. all my other bits that are made by Freud have preformed well for quality cuts and durability. the other feature I like is the Freud packaging of their product. the settings for the bit are on the box. this is not an item I use a lot but it will last me for a long time. yes Freud may cost a little more but I always recall the old saying on market street price is only the lure I am not a professional woodworker just is my hobby nor I do have any relationship with Freud. just satisfaction with what I purchase from Freud. Crikey this monster is actually too big for most projects! But it cuts like mad, but I recommend NOT trying to use the whole cutting face at once.. Like any routing, little bit off at a time. Ive had a few heart stopping experiences when I went in too much and had my router ripped out of my hands. User is idiot, bit is fine. Always wear ppe, I dont care how cool you think you look. You look cooler alive and SAFE

1-5/8" (Dia.) Chamfer Bit with 1/2" Shank

From the Manufacturer

Freud"s precision ground carbide bits have a grain size smaller than other grades, and titanium is added making them impervious to chemical attack. Promoting safer woodworking is the reason Freud made a commitment to develop anti-kickback router bits. Bits are computer balanced to insure vibration-free operation at speeds that are a safe margin above the typical 22,000 RPMs of most routers. Freud"s philosophy is woodworkers should expect safety, not pay for it. Carbide length 5/8-inch, angle 45-degrees, shank diameter 1/2-inch.
