It is nice when good tools are available and never need return. I purchased it for a specific project and the bit cut a very smooth bevel.

Good little 45 chamfer bit. Needed a 1/2 to go in my Bosch 2-1/3HP and this did the trick. No complaints, it works as youd expect.

So far it has been doing very well. I have only used it on about twenty doors and drawer fronts for an edge. Freud has always been one of my choices. I am disappointed though that some of their bits are now being made in China. Very disappointing for me. I truly worry about thier commitment to quality.

Ive used this once and its better than most of the router bits Ive got. I would definitely but it again.

Pros: The bit is well made and cuts well. Cons: The guide bearing is very thin and when you put pressure on it while cutting you can leave a mark on soft woods like pine. I solved the con issue by making the chamber in two cuts and not putting a lot of pushing the router against the work piece.

1-5/8" (Dia.) Chamfer Bit with 1/2" Shank

From the Manufacturer

Freud"s precision ground carbide bits have a grain size smaller than other grades, and titanium is added making them impervious to chemical attack. Promoting safer woodworking is the reason Freud made a commitment to develop anti-kickback router bits. Bits are computer balanced to insure vibration-free operation at speeds that are a safe margin above the typical 22,000 RPMs of most routers. Freud"s philosophy is woodworkers should expect safety, not pay for it. Carbide length 5/8-inch, angle 45-degrees, shank diameter 1/2-inch.
