> 24 hourI used this to facilitate rigging connection protection on the spreaders of my sailboat mast. I have not attempted to remove it yet so I cannot attest to removal, but it seems to adhere to clean aluminum just fine. I will update when I have more information. It shipped rapidly, the tape is of high quality, and it does what it is supposed to in context with the use I had for it, that of ensuring that the rigging wires of my sailboat stay put in the ends of the mast spreaders. I used boots to hold the wires, and this tape keeps those boots closed. I have seen masts where people used the tape alone to hold the wires, but I have not attempted that because I did not like the appearance of such efforts. To each his own I guess. This tape will likely enable that operation in as functional a way as using the boots first and just taping the boots in place..

> 24 hourI picked this up to help me mark and find things in the dark. I discovered a long time ago that remote controls, key fobs, all sorts of plastic objects love to disappear in my messy house. Im planning to add more colors of tape to sort-of color code things to find even in low light. Add a UV lamp or flashlight for best effects.

> 24 hourThis is great gaffers tape. First of all it comes off the roll fairly easily. You know, some of these gaffer rolls you are constantly fighting with and killing your fingertips trying to get the tape unrolled. Not so with this tape. It rolls out easily, tears easily and sticks well without leaving any residue. There isnt much more one could ask for with gaffers tape, is there? Beyond the tape itself, is the company. This tape is sold by webgage and fulfilled by amazon. When this roll of tape arrive I assumed there was some sort of mistake.... it looked used, dirty, with a torn core. I contacted the company immediately and they were profusely apologetic... they sent out another roll right away. It seems amazon had just pulled from the wrong pile. Mistakes happen so I am not concerned about that. Instead I was completely impressed by the swiftness of Webgages response. Within a couple of days I had not only a fresh roll of white tape (also fulfilled by amazon, but correctly this time) but also a fresh roll of the black gaffers tape for free. This company is a class act... they stand behind their product and want to make very sure their customer is satisfied. No, I dont work for the or have any affiliation with them. I had never heard of them or their gaffers tape prior to this purchase. I will, however, be sticking with them for my future gaffer needs. BOTTOM LINE: Excellent gaffers tape at a good price from a company that stands behind their product.

> 24 hourSo, I worked for many years as a production assistant on expensive sets. Gaffers tape (old skool was black, white, and gray—now they have a rainbow of colors) is used for everything. In the music industry (concert stage building -- yeah, I did the Rolling Stones, KISS, etc.) they call if Gaff Tape. Same thing. The Gaffer is the chief electrician or lighting tech on set. The tape is named after their job position, but all member of the crew use it. It is like a super masking tape, or Duck/duct tape that is far less sticky, easy to pull off, but stronger than masking tape. It is also known as cloth tape. So, this is one of the go-to brands we would use on set. There are others, but this tape is really a specialty item (have you seen how much this crap costs?!!), and you want to get it from the companies that specialize in this kind of stuff. This is my favorite brand, as I know it will work, it will stick, it tears nicely, and the quality is always 100%. I have had the unfortunate experience of cheap gaffers tape before. You get what you pay for. There are a few other brands (I wont list them here) that are just as good, but if you are looking at THIS PRODUCT, just buy it and you will not be disappointed. This is the real stuff that real movie, television, and tv commercial professionals use on set in Hollywood and all over the world. Black, gray, and white: White for things like labelling (write on them with black Sharpie); gray to blend in (floor use), and black to NOT reflect light that ends up screwing up your lighting. Also, black is the most common color, so stock up on extra of that.

> 24 hourIt came undone when, a little rain got it. Only the first 6, other tapes usually adhere to the other tape, or top of the same tape, it came apart, and the stick was gone, I wouldnt recommend it for outside. Its bright and strong Note: I use it as paint, for my dart board outside. I like it, but its still the duct tape, only, because of the sticking issue.

> 24 hourExcellent tape to have on hand - real gaffer tape is often the best choice, in that it sticks and holds like duct tape, but releases like blue painters tape.

> 24 hourI just received this roll so I havent tested it yet but I wanted to give some initial observations Specs from WebGage Customer Care: Total thickness: 11.5 mils Adhesion to Steel: 50 oz/in Tensile Strength: 42 lb/in Matte-Finish Vinyl Coated Cloth Adhesive Type: rubber Thickness: I have used the JVCC gaffer tape (GAFF30YD/BLK230) which is 12 mil, and this is rated slightly thinner at 11.5mils. Although only a 0.5 mil difference, I think it is noticeable (perhaps different measuring standards?). The 12 mil JVCC feels closer to the thickness of electrical tape, there is a thicker spread of glue (like duct tape), its whiter, and it doesnt stretch. This Gafferpower stretches more and has a lighter spread of glue that is more gray. Sometimes thicker is better for protection, sometimes thinner is better so it wraps and grabs better. Texture: JVCC has a very unique texture that is soft and smooth, like a fine matte velvet, which looks nice and doesnt stretch. The Gafferpower is more like other gaffer tapes - mesh like duct tape and stretches. Tearing by hand: Similar, but I think due to its thickness, the JVCC tears better (sometimes jagged, threads sticking out). Need to use scissors for a nice cut. Tackiness: Similar, but JVCC has more glue. Strength: Havent tested yet. JVCC is strong. Longevity: Havent tested yet. The JVCC can leave residue on some materials over long term (e.g. plastic book covers) and the backing would slide away from the glue if theres movement; on other materials, it can be clean after months. Overall the Gafferpower still seems like good tape. EDIT: WebGage Customer Care responded to my questions about the thickness and provided specs, and after double checking, I updated my comments, giving it 5 stars. Thumbs up to WebGage!
