> 3 dayI have tried most flavors of Gu over the past 7 years. I really like many of their varieties and can tolerate almost any flavor. However, once they introduced this salted caramel version, it instantly became my favorite! It truly tastes like a melted version of salted caramels! I was thrilled when GU decided to make it available year-round rather than just one of their seasonal flavors. A year later, its still my favorite!

> 3 dayThis is one of my favorite supplements, I can use it with boxing, rock climbing, firefighting, general labor, great pick me up on the go. It has amino acids, the building blocks of protein, caffeine for muscle recovery and sodium to stay hydrated with extreme heat or heavy activity.

> 3 dayI’ve purchased a lot of GU but wanted to try a new flavor. I was not disappointed with the salted caramel. GU is my go to energy boost before and during any long run and when it tastes good it makes it even better. Love this product!

> 3 dayI am an endurance cyclist, and one of the challenges Ive had over the years is finding on-the-bike snacks that both supply carbs/electrolytes/caffeine AND taste good. Usually taste is the big issue for me, with things either being too sweet (which seems to lead to stomach upset for me) or tasting too much like chemicals. I tried one of these packets that a friend had while out on a bike ride in December, and it was so good that I promptly pulled out my phone, opened the Amazon app, and ordered a box. The salt component of this flavor keeps it from being too sweet, it has all of the rest of the balanced ingredients you need to maintain good performance on the bike, and I had no issues digesting it. I hope they make this a regular flavor, as it is one of my new favorites!

> 3 dayThis is a good goo with nice flavor and a little caffeine. Can give you a small boost of energy during the day. But all these energy goos are a overpriced.

> 3 dayI like both the taste and the consistency. It’s vanilla, but not overwhelming and it doesn’t repeat on me like some products do. The packaging is small with no sharp edges. Price is good when compared to similar products. The consistency is closer to pudding than runny liquid so I can eat it in two or three ‘slurps’ without it spilling over my fingers or worse still over the shifters on my bike over 30 seconds or so. I can’t speak to the amount of sodium, caffeine or amino acids but if I’m dragging this always peps me up.

> 3 dayI have tried a large variety of GU gels (and similar gels made by other brands) over the course of several years of running. Pro: Like all GU gels, these have a nice, liquidy texture that helps swallowing mid-run easier than some of the stiffer gels (Clif!). Con: The Salted Caramel description suggests a nice balance between sweet and salty, but I found the actual flavor to be overwhelmingly sweet and artificial (relative to other GU gels--they all taste artificial to some degree, of course!), and had an off-puttingly cloying tinge to the flavor.

> 3 dayHave tried a few GU flavors and this one is a favorite. If you are planning on running 45 minutes or more, you should try taking one 5 minutes before you start and then every 45 minutes thereafter until your done. I PRd a half marathon easily using GU Roctane, but did most of my training miles with this GU. It really does give you a boost (I know by looking at my mile splits and lining up when I took the GU to when my split speed increased). Overall a great product for all distance runners!
