> 3 dayIts a great drive. Working like it should so far. Will order another from this seller in the future. Hitachis are the best. Have another older version Ive been running for over 3 years. Still going strong.

09-06-2025Great value for the price! I switched from WD based on industry performance comparisons. So far so good. Note: they are owned by WD which is owned by Seagate.

> 3 dayI am a retired engineer. I build computers as a hobby. This is not my first purchased of HGST hard drive. I’ve purchased 2T and 4T HDST with no issues. I first purchased a recertified HGST which I thought would be okay for the use in a home entertainment center to store TV series. I installed the drive and it immediately started making popping and cracking sounds during operation which is a sign of a failing hard drive. I returned it. This time I order a new Ultrastar hard drive which did the same thing. I’ve been using a 2008 HGST that I pulled from an old computer to store TV series. It works well, however it was only 5oo gigs. So, now I am using it again. I guess there is little or no quality control since it was now part of Western Digital.

> 3 dayHARD DRIVE RUNS AT 53C WHEN NOT UNDER LOAD, WHICH GREATLY SHORTENS THE LIFESPAN. YOU MUST BUY A FAN WITH THIS PRODUCT, AND POINT IT DIRECTLY AT THE HARD DRIVE ENCLOSURE, OR ELSE YOUR HARD DRIVE WILL FAIL. NOT RECOMMENDED PURCHASE. ... On the bright side, after 3 years of continuous use with a fan, the hard drive continues to run.

> 3 dayThis is my first Hitachi drive and let me start by saying these units are heavy! You can tell they are built well and its not noisy at all. So far Im impressed, keeping my fingers crossed.

Greater than one weekIt Gets Very Loud after 2 months of use, I had to spend much more money on an M.2 SSD just for the luxury of not having it constantly buzz. If you are on a strict budget i would opt for the WD blue in a 1 TB variant then this.

> 3 dayGood performance and I think I will be buying one more shortly. only thing is this 7K3000 is not available on HGST website and this product was built only for specific server users like hp / dell for big company, but as they have spare such hdd comes out to individual customers.. this hdd is NEW non-used - sealed packed. new series is 7K4000 Ultrastar

> 3 dayNormaly drives are supposed to last 20,000 hours before they start having problems however this drive only lasted 4,000 before it started slowing way down and making grinding noises when files were transfered on and off of it. Other than that it was a good cheap drive. You get what you pay for
