> 3 dayWithin 2 weeks of owning this machine I had to take it to a repair shop. The feed dogs would randomly go in reverse or just not feed altogether. The it completely stopped feeding. $80 at a repair shop and I just got it back. He said something was sticking in the stitch selector that caused the problem. Hopefully it will work now... but if it stops working again this will officially be a waste of money. Low star rating due to the fact that machine was defective.

> 3 dayI wonderful machine. I had a different Janome but it just wasnt what I wanted. I wanted basic. No fancy stuff that only causes problems. This is the machine for me. I hesitated on buying black, but I do like it. Using black thread is a trick since I am old! LOL

> 3 dayI am an intermediate level sewer. I have a 301a Singer from the 50s for heavy duty sewing and a Brother 1034D Serger. This very nice machine is a wonderful addition. I still dont know how to use all of the features but so far I am loving it. It seems to be pretty sturdy even compared to my Singer. All of the goodies that go along make it a great deal.

> 3 dayThe machine is a piece of crap. Unfortunately by the time I realized this the return window had closed. Stay away from this machine.

> 3 dayFirst, kudos to the Amazon seller, Faribault Vacuum and Sewing (First Vacuum on Amazon). They shipped the machine immediately, and it arrived quickly, in perfect condition. Set up was simple and the HD-3000BE worked flawlessly right out of the gate. I started off sewing seams with six layers of heavy upholstery fabric, with basting tape sandwiched in between, and the machine hummed along with no hesitation. Bobbin winding is simple and quick. The needle threader saves a ton of time. The built-in storage areas for the accessories and different presser feet means no more losing stuff. This machine is also very quiet, about half as loud as my no-defunct Singer. The HD-3000BE is nice to look at. Glad I got the black version. Its cool. There are some plastic parts to the machine, but there is a lot of metal. It is nice and heavy, which means it does not jump around while stitching. The foot pedal is very easy to control precisely, so I can go through thick materials as slowly as I want. In my opinion, this machine is a good value, is versatile, well made, and easy to use. It checks all the boxes. I recommend potential buyers scroll through the buying options, and choose a seller with the highest rating, even if it costs a couple bucks more.

> 3 dayHave not used the machine much yet. Works well. I have trouble using needle threader but a friend tried it and it worked fine for her. Stitches are smooth and even. My first Janome machine, so I have some learning to do. Happy with the purchase.

> 3 dayThis is a non-electronic basic machine. Doesnt like to sew thick material. Not suitable for quilting. I returned it and purchased a machine to handle quilting.
