I bought this thing as a soldering mat and it works well for that. It is heat resistant, doesnt melt or anything, and keeps all my tools and screws and whatnot all in one place. There are even a few little pockets that can hold whatever and a few magnetic sections to make certain your screws dont go all over the place. The medium size seems efficient enough for me, since Im mainly messing around with small, handheld gaming devices.

I’ve been using this for a while. It is very nice to have a surface where you can do soldering work without worrying about scorching the work surface, and where flux residue isn’t an issue. Very flexible, smooth surface. I’m buying another one, so I can keep one on my bench, and have another to put in the travel project box.
