2001 GMC Yukon XL is like a big noise tube. I had an aftermarket exhaust installed and at certain engine rpms the harmonics that went through the exhaust was amplified inside of the vehicle so much that it was almost painful to the ears. And if anyone was sitting in the third row seating, forget about talking to them. I was skeptical about how well this would work but, on a whim, I decided to try this, as I was pulling the seats and carpet to clean them anyway. There is a 5 piece rolling tool installation kit that is also available, but I dint purchase it and had no problem with installation. In fact, I found that by wearing a pair of mechanics gloves (fabric, NOT NITRLE OR LATEX) it made it easy to really push the matting into small crevasses and around curves. I did have a laminate roller that is about 4 wide, and I did use that on some larger areas, but found myself defaulting to using the gloves instead. No doubt the rolling tools would have helped but I dont think you need them to have a successful installation. On the instructions, it says that you should roll out the matting until all of the waffle pattern is gone; but I pushed and rolled and pushed and rolled and was almost never able to completely eliminate the waffle. At the end of the day though, I feel like I got it installed successfuly. The mat is easy to cut with scissors or a utility knife. The backing is very sticky and once its down, dont even think of trying to pull it up. (NOTE: the day I installed it, it was in the low 90s so Im sure that helped with the adhesion). After installing, I took the vehicle for a test drive and was shocked how much quieter the vehicle was. It is still a little noisy, but soooo much better. At least now I can talk to someone sitting in the third row, while driving. I only have two regrets. 1) I should have bought another box. The 50 sq/ft box I got only covered around 85% of the floor. 2) I should have bought the 80mil matting instead of the 50mil as Im sure that would have made an even bigger difference.

I bought the 50 square foot package and it came in just the right sizes that made it and easy job to piece them together and get great coverage. This is the floor of a 1976 F150. These sheet metal floors are usually quite tinny and transmit road noise. With only a couple of sheets installed I could already tell it was working and it looks great too! I bought a package of three sizes of rollers to facilitate the install.

Product was used in a 2018 Chevy Express Extended Passenger Van conversion. After gutting the van we lined the entire walls in back and side doors, wheel wells and ceiling with the product. On our first short trip to a National Park we were amazed at how quiet the interior was on the highway. We could not hear most cars passing by and semi trucks were very muffled. The only doors we did not apply yet was the driver and passenger doors and yet the sound dampening was awesome. The application process was fun and easy. The lines on the foil backing made it easy to measure and cut straight pieces to fit where needed. We did purchase a heavy duty pair of scissors at the DIY store for under $20.00 which made the cutting of product easy. We even used some of the backing paper to create templates of some of the more challenging areas and used outline to trace onto back of product for a perfect cut and fit. We purchased two boxes and have a half a box left. Oh yea, we also purchased the metal rollers recommended for pressing the product securely against the area applied. One more thing, one of the reviews for this product recommended using a metal spoon to press product in hard to reach areas and it worked great.

This is a lot of material and it goes a long way. I did the back wall of my truck and have at least 35 sheets left. I may add more elsewhere. It cuts super easy with scissors or a razor knife and molds into place. I got the roller tool which was great for flat areas and found a screwdriver handle worked great for smaller, hard to reach areas.

Seems like it works. Did not check with a meter before or after but I feel as if the difference is somewhat minimal. I decided to buy and install this stuff on a Class C RV cab because of the intense amount of road noise. I realize that an RV is a moving house on wheels and will make all kinds of noise, but I really couldnt have a conversation with my wife when driving without yelling or hear the radio. I found killmat and decided to tear everything out and install these mats on doors and floors. I already had heat/sound resistant material in the doghouse from a previous install and do NOT recommend using this stuff in that heat. Post install drive seems like it reduced noise about 15 to 20 percent. Enough to have a conversation without yelling. My wife and kids say that they can tell the difference but Im a little more critical of my work. I also swapped out the crappy ford speakers with better speakers and can hear the radio fairly clearly. The difference is NOT night and day...it is more like night and early morning. It works but this is still an RV. It may work better in a regular vehicle. Was it worth all of my sweat to install...yeah, I think so.

Best bang for your buck. At a fraction of the cost of name-brand sound mat, this is absolutely unbeatable. I appplied liberal coverage (~80%) in my daily driven Nissan Juke, and the difference is definitely noticeable. Drastic improvement in sound quality inside, and a pretty significant reduction in noise heard outside. I also applied some matting to the floorboards, door, and roof skins on my G35 which really only sees track days. I’ve had it in my G35 for several years now, and have seen no signs of decreasing adhesion. Bottom line: don’t spend more for a product that isn’t really all that much better, when you can have a comparable alternative at a fraction of the cost.

The mats were very easy to cut up and install inside the interior of my car. Road noises sound muffled which is very nice and vibrations from the subwoofers have less rattle which adds thump and tonality to the music. This stuff is really great and idk if it’s just me but I love the smell of the adhesive, it made installing this very pleasant :)

Great stuff. Easy to apply and was able to cut easily. Be careful when applying with your hands. I forgot how sharp the foil can get and sliced my finger.
