    My house isnt grounded so it should show open ground all the time which is fine but I put an outlet backwards on purpose and it still read open ground and not reverse polarity.

    Extremely frustrating. Kept showing an open neutral reading which left me troubleshooting the receptacle I added for hours!! Come to find out the middle light was not working. Went and bought another brand at Home Depot and retested, receptacle was wired correctly. Extremely annoying would not recommend.
