I had a kindle and this is so much better! integrates directly with Overdrive, most of the books I have wanted to read have been available. You get about twice as much bang for your buck as with Kindle. The books are slightly more expensive but you arent locked into a specific store to purchase them.

I ended up returning this because I could not use Kindle Unlimited or Scribd with it. And apparently their Kobo Plus subscription is not available in the U.S. Otherwise its a great device. I ended up getting an Onyx Boox Leaf 2 instead on Targets website using their store *debit* card for 5% off. The white version is what I got because it has a sunken screen which makes the text sharper. It is an Android e-reader, still e-ink, that has the ability to download the Play Store so I can use Audible, Kindle Unlimited, and Scribd on it. Or whatever app you want to download.

I ordered this Kobo after the Kindles latest changes to the user interface. I really couldnt stand the changes in the Kindle software. This is a great replacement for the Kindle. There are not pages and pages of ads on the home page. Navigation is simple and intuitive. The screen is crisp and high resolution. The comfort light is warm. Its light and fits in my hand comfortably. (The metal of the Kindle Oasis always kind of cut into my palm when I held it without the case.) Im not missing my Kindles at all!

I unboxed my Kobo Libra 2 and fell in love with it. Sadly as I configured it I realized that my massive kindle library was not compatible with the Kobo e-reader. (Before Kobo loyalists nuke me, I know there are ways to do it but I was not willing to do chetaah flips to do it). Anyway loved the screen, configuration, etc but was bummed to have to return it. I think there should be a disclamer somewhere, or at least something in the comparison blocks where it also listed the Kindle paperwhite, that the Kobo is not compatable with Kindle e-books.

I upgraded from a Kobo Aura One to the Libra 2. You might ask why I consider going from a 7.8 device to a 7 device an upgrade. I do, because I have tiny hands and never realized just how much I HATED holding the Aura One until I had the smaller Libra 2 for comparison. I had originally bought the Sage, but due to the battery life and the sheer weight of the thing, I returned it. I love the design of the Libra 2 with the side buttons. I had always thought that my Aura One would be better if I could just hold it on the side, its just where I naturally want to hold an e-reader, but due to the thin side bezels on the Aura One, that wasnt possible. One thing I will say is that the Libra 2 feels better with a case on it. You can get the official case, or a third-party case here on Amazon for half the price, and from what I gather, weighs less than the official case as well. I got one from BOZHUORUI that has a pretty starry pattern on it, but there are plenty of other options at this point. I love the Libra 2 for its size and weight. It also has an AMAZING screen, and great battery life. Sure, the last gen model H20 might be lighter than the 2, but I think the 2 with the case I got for it, is the sweet spot for what an e-reader should weigh, at least for me, personally. I have been reading a lot more since I bought the Libra 2, compared to my Aura One. If you have a Kobo device thats several years old, dont hesitate to upgrade! If you have a last-gen model, its probably not worth it. I cant do any comparisons with Kindle devices, as I dont own any, but the Libra 2 costs less than the Paperwhite Signature Edition (which also has 32gb so is comparable) and significantly less than the Oasis (which has the page turn buttons on the side), and has the amazing screen and everything.

Very crisp screen. Lighting is awesome and I love, love, love the page turn buttons and it’s easy to hold. I’m returning for a few reasons I have multiple library cards and the built in overdrive only lets me sync with one at a time. I use Goodreads and would have to input books manually. It is just too much work for me to switch out of the Amazon ecosystem. Too bad. This is a really good ereader. If you have one library card, if this is your first ereader, if you don’t use Goodreads I highly recommend.

This is excellent. I love that I can connect to my library and check books out directly from the tablet rather than from another device. The features are awesome, it works perfectly. I have no complaints

I have the first version of this eReader, which I love. But this new one is even better. First and foremost - - the backlight. Version one had inconsistent lighting. The left hand side of the screen was a little lighter than the rest of the screen. It wasnt a deal breaker, but it was annoying. Well thats gone now. The screen is perfectly and uniformly lit. Second, it seems like the text is even crisper than before. Maybe its the better consistency of the lighting, but this text just seems more clear. Third, they moved the power button. That makes more of a difference than I thought it would. The version one power button is a lousy button on the side that never quite felt right. And if you have a case on your reader, it made the power button almost inaccessible. With the power button on the back of the reader, its now easily reached, even with a case. Finally, the USB-C port. Nice touch. All in all, definitely a worthwhile purchase.
