Works opposite of traditional styles. Push an easily pressed button to release/retract tape. 4 + years experience with this tape measure. This purchase is a replacement.

You may think a tape measure is a tape measure is a tape measure. But you would be wrong. I use one a lot and I was very unhappy with the couple I had at home and had been using. I researched them and decided on this one. Its great for what I need. It is extremely easy to see and read, the lock works great and when I push the button to have it reel back it, I dont have to worry about it hitting my hand. And of the course the lime green color doesnt hurt since I love that color. If you looking for a simple, not huge, but extremely efficient tape measure - this is it.

So disappointed in this. Locking feature barely works, it slowly slides back in, so aggravating. After one days use the tape is bent out of shape and so wont stay hooked to anything. Would not buy again.

I thought this was a great purchase until the lock mechanism jammed--after only a few months of occasional use. I cant recall anymore exactly how it happened, but all I know is I pulled out the metal tape to measure something fairly long, and I was unable to retract it. Possibly the weight of the tape when extended for more than a foot or so was too much for the tape to handle without warping; that would be my guess.

Straightforward and durable tape. The button is large enough and easy to hit to retract without issue. Its strong and can be extended quite a long length before bending too far to its snap point. Pretty good value for the price.
