Komelon SL2825 Self Lock 25-Foot Power Tape

The first time we used it we pulled it all the way out and it wouldn’t go back in. I threw it away because I never would’ve been able to send it back.

I bought this about 6 years ago and use it maybe once a week for around the house stuff. Small projects, general measurements, etc. I took care of it, never dropped it or left in the elements, but its starting to go after just 6 years. The price makes it practically disposable, however, Ive had hand me down tapes last just as long after 30 years of abuse from hard working craftsman. They just dont make them like they used to...

I actually got this for my 6-year-old who loves to use tools like his daddy :) I didnt want to get him a standard tape because I was afraid itd cut him if it retracted unexpectedly. This one stays locked until hes ready to retract it so its perfect for him. I have run into a couple issues of it binding when fully extended. Ive had to disassemble it twice to get it back on track.

Sturdy, works well

I have the 16ft and 25ft self lock Komelon measuring tapes. The 25ft is significantly heavier and not practical for most DIY/around the house measuring. I use my 16ft for most my needs and save the 25’ only for measurements longer than 16’ due to the weight making it hard to hold steady. Love the self locking feature though!

Measures good

I re-bought this after using the first one to death. Easy to find color because it is so unusual.

The locking mechanism has already broken after 3 months.
