> 3 dayThis is WAY better than the Canopy humidifier I had (what a piece of garbage). Like all humidifiers, I wish the cleaning obligations were less burdensome but it is what it is. Mostly, this is a great product & im happy with the purchase. The only thing I wish were better is the diffuser. I really don’t smell anything in the bedroom I use this in. The manual does say not to expect a strong scent but I don’t smell anything at all.

> 3 dayI have a regular cold mist humidifier and it doesn’t work as well as this one. When I use just a regular cold mist humidifier I end up with a bad cough and sinus congestion. But this model of levoit humidifier I have an option for warm mist and it comes with two different types of filters for the water. I have always used distilled water for this humidifier and with the two filters it’s amazing. It can raise the humidity level within a few minutes on the low setting. It also barely makes any noise besides on the highest temperature (warm mist only). Cleaning the product is also easy since most of the parts can be removed and dried. The app feature is also a plus.

> 3 dayAfter a few months I finally figured out that NONE of the humidifiers mentioned in my original review are suitable for a) guitars, b) heavy use or c) use where water has a lot of minerals (i.e., hard water). The three units mentioned all employ what amounts to an inkjet-like sprayer. These spit VERY FINE calcium particles into the air (along with water) and that effect COMPLETELY COVERS EVERYTHING with a VERY FINE white (calcium) powder. I ultimately, moved to a FORTH humidifier from “AirCare” (also available on Amazon) after visiting a local guitar shop and seeing what they use. The AirCare unit does not use an inkjet-like design. So, no white powder. It’s also much larger and can keep a large room at 47% with ease. After many months with the AirCare, I’ve settled into a routine where I clean its “filter” with vinegar instead of simply changing the filter for a new one each time the machine asks for a filter change. This reduces cost of operation DRAMATICALLY and lets me just fill with hard/tap water. IF you have a fancy guitar and need to control its humidity THE AIRCARE IS THE BEST (arguable only) answer. I have some nice acoustic guitars and live in the desert so a humidifier is a must. I’ve now purchased three different humidifiers (all from Amazon)... 1) this one; 2) the teardrop shaped one you see around here; 3) the Taotronic (blue/white, 4L w/ humidistat). The best choice has turned out be #3. The teardrop one is basic. Turn it on. It runs until empty. The mist is variable but otherwise there are no other controls. This one (Levoit) is the nicest looking. It’s got a bit of an Apple vibe. ...and it holds the most water. Features wise it tops the others with heat (which I could care less about), a remote (which I could care less about) and 6L capacity. You’d think because it holds more water that you’d fill it less often. But that’s not really the case as it tends to pump more water (without any obvious improvement in humidity) over the Taotronic one. The controls appear nicer but that too is misleading. I actually have found it to be LESS intuitive (it seems to ignore my “use the humidistat” option 60% of the time so I just fave up and set it to full auto. That works but it sets the humidity level to 60+% so it goes through more water. Good for plants but too much for my guitars (which want 45-50%). I have to refill them onceveach day or so but the Taotronics is WAY easier to pop the container, fill and reseat. The Levoit is actually a minor pita to refill. Not horrible. Just not the better of the two. The Taotronics also has a humidistat so you can push a button once or twice and ignore it letting the machine work up to the correct humidity and then act like a furnace/thermostat keeping the humidity just right. The Levoit does this too but 60% of the time the ui didn’t do what I expected (and the machine never turned on or never turned off). It’s got a Mac aesthetic but a PC implementation (if I’m making sense). The Taotronics is the opposite (function / ease of use over design aesthetic). Long story short, I’m going to get a second Taotronics and retire this and the hershey kiss shaped on.

> 3 dayThis product is very quiet. I love the 3 mist settings and being able to actually see the level of humidity in the room. You definitely need to use some kind of carbon filter pellets in there if you have hard water. The tank is quite large. Wish this was a top loading tank though. This is not the easiest to clean. There are alot of parts under the tank and although alot of them come apart and come out, there are alot of small places not so easy to reach. Overall I really like this product.

> 3 dayI have a wood stove, so dry air is a challenge, and Ive had about 10 different humidifiers in the past several years, so Im something of an expert, I guess. Ive tried Vicks, Bionaire, Homedic, and some more expensive units. But Ive had this for almost a month now, and I think my search is finally over... this unit has the highest output of any of the steam or cool mist units Ive tried. Its really very good, in all aspects, and I havent had any of the issues others have mentioned... it simply works, its quiet, and cleaning isnt hard at all. The controls and the amount of precise control you have over the output is excellent, and the humidistat seems to be very accurate. When its out of water it stops every time, and when you refill you dont have to reset all your settings... it holds them until you manually turn the unit off. I also like how small it is, and its very easy to move it to wherever you want it. Refilling is easy, it has jsut the right amount of capacity so its not too heavy to refill (I think its 1.5 gal) and the directional spouts work very well. Ive been extra careful with the tank after reading of some other peoples problems with cracks, and its been fine so far. Of course, with a wood stove, you need a LOT of humidity replacement. This Levoit can raise the humidity about 5-10%, but bear in mind Im using this in a fairly large area, 800 sq ft, which is almost twice the recommended room size for this unit... so technically this unit shouldnt be big enough. But I just put it near our seating area and it makes a big difference... I was surprised at how much more humid the area feels. I tried it in the master bedroom and it blew the Vicks unit away, and got it to 50% pretty quickly. With the wood stove going, none of my steam humidifiers could even move my humidity needle 1%. And out of all the ones Ive tried, only my huge evaporitive whole house humidifier has more output than this one... but while that beast can raise my humidity about 15-20% only when on the highest setting, its such a pain to keep clean, you need to add chemicals which I dont feel is very safe, and its really loud... so loud we didnt use it much. I cant really think of any negatives at all... its really a great unit. I guess if I could get 2 for the price of one it would be better, but its eel worth the money IMO. BTW, my suggestion is to stay away from cool mist... in fact I will never get a cool mist unit again. Even using 100% pure H2O (distilled) from my reverse osmosis system, it still makes a white dust, and the chemicals I tried only reduced the amount of dust, but didnt eliminate it. Theyre also really hard to keep clean, and bacteria is a real problem. Plus, who wants to add chemicals to the air you breath? Check it out... I dont think youll be disappointed. EDIT: Ive had it almost 2 years now, and the heat element stopped working for the warm mist. Granted, I use it daily all winter long, but in this day and age a heat element should last years. I simply wrote to Levoit, explained the problem, verified my receipt and all that, and theyre sending me a new one. No hassles, no cost. Thats the way it should be... great company that stands behind their products! How rare these days.

> 3 dayI love how quiet it is and it quickly added humidity to my bedroom which is where I use it. My only problem was using the app it would sometimes get disconnected and I’d have trouble turning it on manually. It’s most likely something I’m doing wrong I just don’t know what it is! Other than that I’ve had no problems with it.

> 3 dayHaving used dozens of humidifiers in my life, I am delighted to finally find this Levoit Warm/Cool Mist Humidifier. I have used the unit every day for 2 months. I live in dry, and HIGH, Denver, CO. In the winter with the gas forced air heater running, dryness becomes difficult breathing at night when sleeping. I have used the old vics warm (boiling) humidifiers, wick style, and ultrasonic mist. The biggest 2 tips I can give are these 1) In Denver, my small 170 square foot room with standard ceiling height requires TWO humidifiers of any serious type to bring humidity from 30% to 65%. To humidify a dry climate with gas forced air pumping is a losing battle; so attack it as best you can and know it is not so much the humidifier, but the simple physics of creating a humid environment. 2) Use Distilled or RO water to massively reduce mineral build up in the machine and for reduced white dust. If I want to really boost the humidity levels in my room I turn the Levoit on to Warm Mist. The humidity in the room increases dramatically compared to the small rise on Cool Mist. (Physics...) I do not leave it on warm mist when I am sleeping simply because it is slightly louder on warm mist. Otherwise, this is a very quite cool-mist machine. And if I need a warm shower (being disabled, there is no door between my bathroom and bedroom (master suite)), and I turn the Levoit on with Warm Mist, after a 15-minute shower, the entire bedroom is FOGGY! Humidity has reached over 95%. Then I switch the Levoit to cool mist and go to sleep. With about 1.6 gallons, this unit on HIGH output and Cool Mist will use the water for about 20 hours. The unit has three levels of output. On the lowest setting, the system can run for about 2 days. In my home for drinking/cooking/ice maker/indoor flower water I use

> 3 dayThis is a great company to work with. We have two of their humidifiers and one started leaking. It was after the return time on Amazon and so I reached out to the company. Without hesitation, they sent me a new unit which is working great as well. Definitely will buy my next humidifier from this company.

Greater than one weekI like it alright. I think it’s a good humidifier. The only thing that annoys me about it is that I only get one night out of it before I have to refill the tank, and also if it runs out of water, instead of turning off, it just continues to try starting over and over again and it makes a noise when it does that, which is annoying. I wish it would just turn off when it runs out instead of trying aimlessly to start over and over again until I wake up and turn it off.
