    Greater than one week

I have an 18 year old cat that just cant tolerate the cold. I had a heating pad on his bed for years and when it stopped working I had to get another. I was concerned that there were no temperature settings on this pad, but it seems to be comfortably warm for him.

Description of this product is accurate. Temp control awesome and so far so good on safety. I was worried about putting in my garage and leaving it on all the time for cold weather where one cat prefers to hang in box. She loves it and now we cant get her in the house. My old girl who lives on the couch inside is very thin and gets cold so this was a great solution. I dont think youre supposed to put it on a soft surface but we have had it in the dog bed she claimed for over two months. She has peed and threw up on it twice (grant me patience). Just washed mat with clean rag and windex. Tossed the zipped cloth cover in the washer and dryer no problem. I would definitely recommend. The heating pad, not the 19 year old cat .

The instructions for this mat said it was safe to use with the cover it comes with and dont mention limiting the time the mat should be in use. If you are planning to have it on more than a few hours, you need to put extra blankets on top of the mat. My cat absolutely loves it but she got a mild burn when she was on it for several hours. I have since made sure that there is always enough insulation between the mat and my cat. On the plus side, I have been using it a lot for over a month now and it has held up fine.

I have an older ragdoll cat who craves heat. Especially in the winter months. Bought this to replace a heating pad. This is safer. I place in her bed and cover with a towel to keep it clean.

I have two cats, and I got one for each of them. One, wouldnt touch it (she has longer fur and weighs more, so shes already warm). The other (who is thinner and has shorter fur), absolutely obsessed, even in summer. I gave away the first one for someones small dog, but the one I kept has held up for a couple years and my cat is still found on it pretty much every day. I have to unplug it some days because shell sleep on it even during a heat wave - she seriously spends hours every day on it. Sometimes she pulls her actual bed over and uses it as a pillow while shes on her heat mat. Shes so upset when I have to unplug it after she has surgery/a dental cleaning (because I cant trust her to be able to get up if she gets too warm when shes on anesthesia and pain meds), but the first day I DO turn it on, once shes off her meds, she spends the entire day on it. Im really happy she has something to keep her warm in our Michigan winter, because she is alone at night and I used to worry about if she got too cold... now I only have to worry if the power goes out. The cord is really thick and sturdy. My cat has like two teeth, so she cant chew on cords anyway, so I have no idea how sturdy it is for cats who do like to chew. My other cat is a cord chewer, but she never used hers - and they live sepatately for medical reasons, so my other cat has no access to this one. The orange fabric cover comes off, so it should wash pretty well. So far I havent had to wash it (though I do use a lint brush on it from time to time to remove hair), so I havent taken the cover all the way off and cant comment on how the cover holds up in the wash.. but it has held up since I got it in Feb of 2020. So the big con (which I knew about when ordering so Im not taking stars off for this) - mainly the temperature control, which is.... pretty much none. Its meant to be controlled by weight, so when shes not on it its not really warm, and then it heats up when shes on it. I like that it doesnt stay constantly warm, but it would be nice to have some kind of control. The other thing is, it IS just a mat. Theres absolutely no padding, and I think she would probably prefer if it was a bit softer/padded... but since its on an old couch (nobody uses it except her anyway), its not a big deal. I think theres probably better ones out there if you have a bigger budget, but this is a really decent heat mat and my cat is in love with it. Considering it has a 50/50 success rate with my cats (in terms of liking it), I think its a good option to get if youre not sure if your cat or dog would like a heat mat. But if you DO know they like them, it may be worth it to spend a little more if you can afford it. I originally got them for $20 each, the 12x15 size. The size is perfect for her, she CAN curl up on it but she often likes to spread out and spin around occasionally so that all of her gets warm, which she would have to do regardless of size. Overall, yes I would buy it again, but Id probably try to find one thats a little nicer (heat control and padding) first if it was in my budget. I would DEFINITELY get these if I was fostering several cats or had messy cats that may need it to be cleaned frequently, since cleaning does seem to be really easy with this one.

This heating pad is everything they say. It maintains a perfect temperature for the animals and we live in snow country. I have it inside our dogs crate, under the cushion and the warmth is perfect. I was so pleased with the first heating pad I purchased I bought a second one for our dogs crate out in my husbands shop. Our dog goes in there for her naps or when she has decided he is making too much noise with his woodworking.

Our cat used to be an outdoor cat and we had an old heating pad in his little house. Well he is about 20 years old and is now an indoor cat and we bought this heating pad and he loves it. He stretches and sprawls out on it. He loves it and it is constant warmth. I recommend it. Very reasonable.

I got the larger size due to having two cats, so I wanted enough room for them to share. It is almost too small for both of them to use. Although it doesnt seem big enough for a large dog. It seems to fit more of a medium sized dog more comfortably (comparing it to my 35 lbs dog) Something I also noticed was it didnt seem to heat up a lot but I think that is mostly due to the fact it will get between the body heat and the blanket of the animal. So they seemed to like it and use it every single time it is turned on. Helps with the chilly nights

When I first put it out my cats wouldnt go on it, my thought was maybe because it smelled a little different than their old one that it was replacing. I put it underneath the blanket on my bed and they had no problem getting on the warm spot then when it got cold enough that I had to put the quilt on the bed for my own comfort and I moved the heating mat on to bed they had no problem so if it was any smell a couple of weeks its spent under my blanket took care of it.
