I use these with Apple HomePod. Setup was easy—don’t bother with the manufacturer app, just use the Home app on your iPhone

Have a pair of these, using with Home app (Apple IOS). One was easy to set up, the second did not work for the longest time. Then a few days later, on perhaps the 8th attempt to set up, it finally updated into the Home app. Since then I find that I have about a 50% success rate where I open the Home app and they are both available to use. The other 50% of the time only one of them will be available, the other offline, or neither will be available. Sometime after a minute or two this problem will self-correct, but thats frustrating because it didnt work at the time you wanted to turn the outlet on or off. So... I will be on the look out for a solution that connects to wifi and the Home app, and remains connected reliably. Intermittent availability is no good.

After not being able to install the plug on two separate occasions I gave it a 1 star rating; however after working with the vendor I was able to successfully install the plug. I now give it a 4 star rating.

I bought these as a pack of 2. Really simple to set up. The 2nd one wouldn’t stay paired. It would work for a day or two then stop. I was using it to put behind my China cabinet & control my Christmas tree lights. You can imagine how frustrating it was to try & keep moving my China cabinet out to reset it! Then I trying to pair it for my son to use in the TV in his room. Could even hit it to pair

I have six of these now, and every week theres one I have to go hunt down, unplug, and replug because its crashed. This is the opposite of convenience. Also, as soon as you get them, they want a software update, for which you have to go get their app to apply and make an account and all that. Bleah. On the positive side, they show up right away in HomeKit and work without the 3rd part app just fine as long as they havent crashed.

I put this smart switch on my Christmas tree and now I control it from the Home app on my iPhone. It works perfect. I recommend it.

After buying (and liking) their HomeKit compatible garage opener, I decided to stay with the Meross brand and try out their Meross Smart Plug Minis as well (I bought the 2-pack). I liked the fact that they did not require me to install yet another hub device just to use them (unlike Belkin, Phillips, etc.) and installation and setup was very easy and quick; I had each smart plug added to HomeKit and ready to control in about a minute! The smart plug response is pretty good, and they seem to stay connected and ready to control without any hiccups (unlike some off-brand smart plugs I tried before that kept disconnecting or losing a signal). Two things of note - they do not have a function to show power consumption, and the LED light on the side of the smart plug (to show the on/off state) is very tiny. Aside from that, there is nothing at all to complain about these smart plugs. So, if youre looking for HomeKit-compatible smart plugs that just work with no hassle (easy setup, no extra hub required) the Meross Smart Plug Minis are an excellent choice!

The Meross Smart Plug does work but not very well. When you set up the plug a 2.4Ghz wifi connection is needed. If you have a dual band router make sure all your Apple devices, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod are on the 2.4Ghz band. The Meross App is also needed however the plugs are set up from the HomeKit app. One of my plugs works fine but the other that is further away from the router does not. You need to be very close to the plug to turn it on and off and Siri does not work. The second plug is set up to come on at sunset and can only remain on for 4 hours. A simple timer may work better if you want your light to stay on longer.

If you want to use Apple Home without having to go to another proprietary app, this is a good choice. Ive replaced other units that did not have Apple Home native support. The only thing preventing this from getting 5 stars is that occasionally, these lose their connection to the router for no apparent reason. I dont think it is the router because it only happens with on 1 of 5 installed units. Ive switched them around, and always have a problem with the same unit. I can restore the connection by rebooting the router, but that shouldnt be necessary. My experience - limited to be sure - suggests that 1 of 5 units could have this issue.

It easy easy to install, and works great with Home. Have my lamp plugged in to it and can leave my light on in the living room until I get to my bedroom and then I can turn off the lamp
