5 stars!!! This knife is rock solid, hair shaving sharp out the box. Ive done everything from batoning to feather sticking since I got it and for only 15 bucks!! Ill definitely be grabbing a couple more just because.....

very well made, excellent camp chores knife, sharp, handle very comfortable, knife locks into kydex sheath . One of the best buys for your money. At these prices you can afford more than one. Made of Swedish stainless steel or carbon blades. Not a Ba toning knife but could be used to curl fire sticks if needed.

2.5 year review with moderate use. I put a white vinegar patina on as soon as i received it. These blades pretty much require a coat of oil if youre storing them. Hell, put some oil on after each use. I really like the patina but some of my other Companion knives show a little superficial rust. I found the white vinegar to be the best patina for rust resistance as it coats the entire blade. Other than that, the knife is amazing for the cost. The blade sharpens well and keeps a decent edge and I dont mind abusing this thing because its cheap. Ive had my eye on some pricy 3-6 inch bushcraft blades, but to be honest, I cant justify the purchase at all while these Mora knives are out there. Basically, theyre great knives, but the carbon blades need a little more care. If youre not up for that, but the stainless.

Very high quality. I have purchased German knives before that should have been this good for the cost. I recommend to anyone who needs a strong, durable, well made daily belt knife that should last a very long time.

I was disappointed with this heavyduty companion knife. the grind was so horrible that you could see dips and over grind areas on the entire blade.I have other moraknivs and have never had this trouble before. will buy another knife and hope it doesnot have same problem. I like the scandi grind it holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen

Great knife but the worst sheath Ive ever seen. Would be a 5 star item if not for the sheath. Now Im looking for alternative sheaths.

The Mora Companion Heavy Duty is a powerful tool for bushcrafters, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Suitable for batoning, the Companion Heavy Duty features a thick, 1/8-inch (3.2mm) carbon steel blade with a slightly blunter 27 Degree edge angle for high load capacity and maximum sharpness resistance. The Companion HD has an extra large ergonomic handle with a soft high-friction grip. The classic scandi grind combined with high quality carbon steel makes the knife easy to resharpen. Mora knives made from high carbon steel achieve high hardness, sharpen easily and are exceptionally tough. High carbon steels are preferred in applications that demand durability and frequent regrinding. The material is harder than stainless steel, allowing it to hold a sharper and more durably acute edge. Mora Knives are made from high-quality carbon steel. The carbon knife steels are characterized by ultra-fine carbides that result in superb forging and hardening properties. The absence of large carbide deposits promotes excellent edge sharpness for optimum cutting performance. Morakniv has been manufacturing the highest-quality knives in Mora, Sweden since 1891. Professionals worldwide trust the quality materials and fine craftsmanship of Mora Knives. Mora knives feature ergonomically-designed handles and employ premium-quality knife steel that is optimally adapted to the task for which the knife is intended.
