> 3 dayGreat knife for the price! Extremely sharp! Fits great in my hand! Dont need to buy those over priced high end knives costing $100 or more! This works just fine or better!

> 3 dayUpdate: I’m still in love with Mora knives. For their strength, durability, and price point. They can’t be beat! _______ A great entry level bushcraft knife. Most Bushcrafters are knife snobs. They think a good bushcraft knife has to cost $150-300. Their #1 complaint that Mora knifes do not have a full tang. Moras are 3/4 tang and the handles are injection molded around the tang. Mora knives are much stronger than they appear even the thin stainless steel blades. I was out for a day hike in a park and I kept hearing (Thunk... Thunk... Thunk) I found a guy beating the holy ____ out of a Mora with a hammer until he had a 3 inch (76.5mm) limb until it looked like the limb had been chopped with an AXE! He was deliberately trying to break the knife. At that point I sold my expensive survival knife and bought two Moras (this heavy duty Mora, and the Fire Knife with ferro rod inside the handle. Giving me a cutting tool and fire on my belt. If you have money to buy an expensive $100+ knife I can recommend Battle Horse or Bark River knives. For me: two Mora knives are all I need. This 1/8th inch thick blade for heavy duty and the thin Fire knife for cutting cordage, fine carving, etc. If you dont believe me about Mora knives I suggest you go to You Tube and search for the ID SpartanJohns where he puts the Mora Robust through bushcraft tasks like batoning and other tasks. The Mora Robust is a Mora with 1/8 inch blade instead of normal 1/10 inch blade. I chose this knife because thick carbon steel blade.

> 3 dayThis is a repeat purchase. I own 7 different moras and this companion is as good as it gets. Never gonna find a better knife under $20! This is very comparable to my mora bushcraft black. The weight is the same, length is the same, and the grips are identical. He thickness on he mora black is a bit thicker though, but not by much. The spine on the mora black is able to throw sparks and this companion had does not. Personally I prefer my spines rounded off because when youre whittling and you want to get it in certain angles and grip positions the back of the knife does not dig in your skin. But to add a bit more use to my companion hd, I filed 1/2 an inch from the tip to a straight spine just so I can use it to throw sparks. Another thing I wanted to address is about people batoning their knives, DONT DO IT! I have no idea why people would do that to their knives, bring a hatchet or a light tomahawk for that. If in the situation that you do lose your hatchet then Im all for it, but I dont get why people use their knives primarily to split wood. Thats all I have to say lol, I hope I don sound like Im ranting just giving my 2 cents. Oh and I didnt see it on the other reviews but if this is your first time buying a knife you should immediately strop it with fine compound. Just to keep the edge sharp.

> 3 dayOut of box the knife was not scary sharp as so many say they come. If you dont know how to sharpen a knife than buy a simple slide sharpener, or buy a dollar knife at wal-mart. I wasnt very impressed with the knife at first sight and was kind of disappointed. However after I batoned a couple logs, and carved a decent amount I realized that this knife really does hold its edge, and is very easy to bring it back to razor sharp. The blade thickness is thick enough with no flex. The sheath is fine for me, better than the guppy leather that comes with your Chinese Wal-Mart blades. The knife is great, however I think I will purchase another Mora with a thinner blade. Because of how thick the blade is the Scandi grind is at too wide of an angle for most carving. You cant really lay the blade flat. I will be buying another stainless version for the kitchen and other wet tasks. Like I said amazing blade for $20 after shipping through Harry J Epstein the cheapest seller.

13-06-2025Thee best value in a bushcraft knife, of course the thicker blade and carbon steel.

> 3 dayVery nice knife if you keep it oiled. So sharp! Used it to process a deer and I could hardly feel any resistance to the blade. Like carving warm butter. Beware though, towel dry IMMEDIATELY. It will rust in minutes. I used some cold blu for a nice look too.

> 3 dayAbsolutely solid knife. Purchased as my next camp/backpacking knife. Razor sharp out of the box (bare patch on arm to prove it!). Comfortable, large handle. Fits securely in its hard plastic sheath. Bought two, (one for backpacking son). Would buy again.
