Morakniv Garberg Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife with Carbon Steel Blade

> 3 dayThis knife is so impressive that I am planning a trip to Mora so I can be immersed in a culture of excellence. This knife was SHARP out of the box. With a little stopping I was shaving with it. I was primarily using this knife for batonning and feathering kindling, but was also doing some skinning as well. Was skeptical of the scandi grind at first, but it is so easy to maintain. This knife is my new EDC.

> 3 dayVery well made. Came sharp...not razor sharp but sharp enough. The spine has a nice edge that will strike a ferro rod 100%. Full tang is perfect for batonining? (Sp). And it should hold up to whatever you can throw at it. 5*

> 3 dayYou wont find a better value for your money with Mora knives. The Garberg is specifically designed for bush craft, having a sharp 90 degree spine with which to use a ferrocerium rod. The Scandi-grind makes it easy to sharpen. All in all, an outstanding value.

> 3 dayIts definitely solid and will last me. The 90 edge also helps if I need a striker for a ferro rod. Good stuff!

> 3 dayIn my opinion the Morakniv Garberg is one of the best well rounded knives you can own. Solid construction and quality build. Very sharp. The multi purpose sheath is well made however you will not be able to mount in a scout position. I am doubt-full that a Tec Loc clip would add much but I believe it would be possible. I feel that the clip thou would add additional size (bulk) and therefore would not be suitable for this type of carry. I would suggest the Top Hand Large fixed blade leather sheath which will fit perfectly. Soak in water, form to the knife, dye it a black color if you like dry and apply a good leather oil. Worked perfectly on a Kabar Mark 1 knife and I plan on setting this knife up the same. Also, you can add the survival kit which I think is a nice option. Mounting the sheath to packs or web gear is no problem. You can also screw mount the sheath in your truck or any other location. Would highly recomend this knife. Now as for Caron vs Stainless blade. Carbon will in fact rust and you need to keep a light coat of good oil on the blade. With that said, I would still choose Carbon over Stainless any day of the week for ease of sharping and edge retention. Have numerous knives from Templar, Zero Tolerance etc. For the money you will not go wrong purchasing any Mora knife.

> 3 dayThe Morakniv Garberg is a BEAST. Batoning, carving, fire-steel striking, food prep, you name it and it does it. 1095 steel may not be the sexiest blade material anymore (if ever) but in this knife, with Moras heat treatmet, it does a fantastic job. And it might not be the One Knife for a SHTF situation - but itd be close. However, if you want a high quality blade for camping/bushcraft/outdoor activities without maxing out the credit card this is a very good choice. The Mora Garberg carbon: Buy it. You wont be disappointed.

> 3 dayEin gutes einfaches Messer, gutes Stahl (Carbon), lässt sich relativ einfach schärfen und polieren und hält gut die Schärfe. Mit der Qualität mir gelieferter Ware bin ich auch zufrieden, keine Mängel, alles sauber, alles passt.
