08-06-2025Took this out of the package as soon as it arrived and was shocked/dumbfounded by how blunt it was! It’s about as sharp as a butter knife! I saw a lot of reviews on this knife showcasing how beautifully sharp it was right out of the box so this was one of the reason I got it (the other being that it was full tang and usable with a ferro rod) so I was literally speechless when it wouldn’t even cut through paper. Having just moved out on my own I don’t own a single knife (not even a kitchen one), so I figured I’d get this one which can be used out in the field but also in the kitchen if I needed it. After spending £100 on a knife I didn’t expect to have for fork out more money to buy a knife sharpener and learn how to do it myself, risking ruining the blade.. or having to find and pay someone else to do it. Just so confused as to why a brand new knife with black coating would arrive so blunt, because by sharpening it you end up removing the black coating immediately! Seriously disappointed and frustrated but looking forward to finally being able to use it some day.

> 3 dayMy 2nd Garberg. I also own a stainless model. These are some of the best priced, sturdy and reliable scandi grind blades available. Ive really worked my stainless model hard for yrs and its never failed. Im sure this carbon model will be just a good.

> 3 dayI really like the simplistic sophistication of the knife as a whole. If James Bond would carry a small fixed blade, it would be this knife. I can’t say enough good things about it. I wanted this knife for about 1 1/2 years. I have no idea why I waited so long. Twenty seconds after opening the box, I knew that I would order the stainless model as well with the leather sheath in a few days! It doesn’t come sharp out the box as the blade was painted after a so-so edge was applied. But, as a collector, I’m leaving the blade as is. Get it if you always wanted it!

> 3 dayFinish and sharpness exceeded my expectations by a WIDE margin. Very high quality blade and worth the money as a bushcraft knife. Razor sharp right out of the box and holding the edge very well so far. Very pleased I followed some recommendations for the Mora Garberg Carbon Steel.

Greater than one weekExtremely impressive! This has to be the most universal knife that I own. The biggest caution is that it’s a Carbon steel versus Stainless steel. There are 100% pros and cons for each. If you’ve done the research and decide you want a carbon steel blade, you won’t be disappointed with this one.

Greater than one weekI like this knife alot, but if you want something easy to conceal, this probably isnt for you. If you dont care about the knife hanging off your side, in100% recommend it.

> 3 dayWhat a beautiful knife. Full tank is awesome. We all love mora for the price and quality, mora still holding strong to the quality over price ratio. I’m plan for on keeping this for many years to come!

> 3 dayBought this knife because I wanted a good knife for bushcraft. Its not the biggest, but I bought it because it was a carbon steel knife and had a much larger JeoTec no. 45 and wanted something that wasnt quite as big as that. Took it camping and it was definitely a great nice. Not too big but not too small. The handle fits well in my hand and it wasnt too heavy. Came sharp out of the box and was easy to sharpen. Would definitely buy again if I needed it, but thee first one I got has been holding up pretty well, so I probably wont need to buy another one!
